đ Location & Atmosphere
Nestled by the water, Samuel Slaterâs gives off cozy lodge vibes with a spacious interior thatâs both rustic and refined. The indoor space feels open and airy, with woodsy, natural tones that scream âweekend getaway.â Thereâs also a beautiful outdoor patio and a stadium setupâclearly made for live music nights and good vibes. Too bad it was rainy when we went, but you can tell itâd be a whole scene on a nice day.
đ˝ď¸ Food & Drinks
We kicked things off with the mussels (yes, we had the muscles AND the mussels đŞ)âand they were solid. Flavorful garlic broth, meaty bites, and a soup base that had us nearly sipping from the bowl. Only thing missing? More bread! Donât tease us with great broth and not give enough to soak it up. For mains, I tried the Fun Guy Burgerâa mushroom-forward twist on a classic. It was good, not mind-blowing, but satisfying for a casual bite. The menu leans heavy on American classics, so thereâs something for every picky eater in the group.
đ¨âđł Service & Hospitality
Service was quick, efficient, and to-the-pointâno fluff. Not super warm or chatty, but got the job done. Think of it like: âHi, what can I get you?â instead of âWelcome! So glad youâre here.â Nothing bad, just not overly memorable either.
đĄ Unique Selling Point
The space itself is the star here. Between the large indoor dining room, waterfront views, and a full-on outdoor music setup, this place clearly knows how to host a good time. Come for a chill meal, then stay for the live music (when New England weather cooperates).
Food was good , not above average.
Large brunch spread for Mothers day. Everything was tasty, lovely service, good value. Beautiful grounds.
FANTASTIC FOOD. FANTASTIC SERVICE. UNBELIEVABLE... The Rissoto was to die for.
Easter Buffet. It was good.
Excellent short rib dinner.
Loved it here. Food was excellent and service was supreme. Canât wait to return.
My family went for Easter brunch because we had been two years prior and the food was excellent. Well today, the food was absolutely horrible. Everything was overcooked and stuck to pans when you went for the roast beef and ham they gave you 1/8â x 2â slices. The food was all brown and stuck to the pans. They never asked the ages of the people in my party when I made the reservation and when the bill came they were charging me adult price for a 10 year old and a child for a 1 year old. When we tried to straighten it out they said to bad thatâs how it was booked. And to boot they didnât even have an Easter bunny this year. Needless to say we will never be returning
I cannot go lower than a 1. Just picked up fish and chips and an order of calamari. Worst I have ever had. F&C was soggy, sole slaw was out of an bag and the fries were cold. The calamari was still swimming it was so undercooked. They need to fire the take out manager if there is one. When the put the order in the bad they flipped the calamari over allowing all the oil to seep out. Will NEVER order from there again period.
Excellent Food and Service, extremely loud at dinner time, but it quieted down after.
Well worth the trip. Great Time...

The service is very good, the staff are extremely cordial, attentive and friendly. The food is delicious, there's a beautiful view of the lake, a cozy atmosphere, great drinks, affordable prices, on-site parking and wheelchair parking too. Very clean environment, I highly recommend 10/10
Great food
If youâre planning a small family gathering or special event, this is now our go-to place! The food is delicious, with something for everyone.
Last spring, we reserved a private dining room for our family Easter dinner with 21 guests. Julie, the events coordinator, worked closely with us to create a fantastic menu. Best of all, thereâs no charge to reserve the roomâyour deposit is simply credited to your bill.
More recently, we booked the same room (which holds up to 32 guests) for our daughterâs shower. Of course, a major snowstorm was in the forecast! Their cancellation policy is strict, but Julie was incredibly accommodating. She took the stress out of a stressful situation by allowing us to move the shower up a day to avoid the dangerous weather. She even reworked and printed custom menus for each guest.
The staff went above and beyondâhelping with setup, checking coats, finding us an easel, cutting and serving the cake we brought, and so much more. Without a single hiccup, they pivoted seamlessly to make the day a success.
I canât say enough good things about Julie and her teamâthey are absolute rock stars!
Nice setting by the lake. Good food and service
The food was extremely disappointing. I ordered two items. The two items were not worth my $40. The five cheese mac and cheese were tasteless. You can see the cheese. You just couldn't taste or identify any of the five cheeses. I ordered steak and onion french dipper. The sandwich was unappealing and bland. I also ordered fried calamari. I could taste and see the grease on the calamari. The calamari was not fried. I don't know if this was a rush job or not. Either way, I felt cheated. I will not recommend or visit this establishment again.
Ps. The staff were quite friendly and accommodating.
