Nice neighborhood place to go. Improved wine list and prices since our last visit. Great variety of menu options.
We had such a wonderful experience. I had called the restaurant ahead of time to say I was coming with my parents, including my father who uses a walker. They were so incredibly thoughtful about the table they selected for us and just generally wonderful with us throughout the meal. We had a wonderful and patient server. I appreciate the consideration of all the staff and the manager who made sure we had a wonderful visit to Alta Strada.
The service wasn't good. They failed to bring our appetizers and made no attempt to make up for that other than saying, “I must have forgotten to put it in.” They tried to clear our dishes while we were still eating. We felt like they were trying to rush us out of there. The food was okay. Nothing special. Not worth a trip to Wellesley from Brookline. We won't be back.
The food is always very good and interesting. We particularly liked the new cauliflower appetizer. Unfortunately, the noise level was so high that we could barely hear each other.
We have dinner at Alta Strata several times a year, always connected to a trip to Elmbank. This Festival of Trees was no exception. First, our waitress was excellent and attentive and made great suggestions. We throughly enjoyed her. Food was great as usual. We had a 6:15 reservation and we seated by chance in our usual section and I felt the tables were closer than usual and by 7 pm you couldn't hear the conversation (3) above the noise in the room. The two sitting to my right were just loud. That was my only complaint but while always a busy hum to the room this was exceptional. We will be back!
Outstanding service and very good food and wine. This is one of our go-to places in Metro West. Never disappointed.
The food was wonderful. Ambience was great. Lively but not noisy. The service was impeccable. Definitely would come back to try more on the menu.
Out of 4 dishes we ordered (two appetizers and two main dishes) I really only like the prosciutto and burrata appetizer. Cauliflower appetizer was decent but not great. My main dish grilled Branzino was too dry. I tried a little bit from my husband‘s braised ribs, ribs, and polenta were great, but the mushrooms in the dish felt like have baking soda on them. Must say - service was great. Maybe their other dishes are more successful.
Alta Strada never disappoints! Best service, wonderful meal, a nice bottle of wine, and comfortable vibe. Thanks all!
fresh food and delicious- the mushroom ravioli and the Bolognese was delicious. The side of ricotta was definitely overpriced but the quality of the food was great

I could not reserve what I needed on open table and left a request with the reservation I could get. Alta made the accomodation and revised the reservation. Then we got stuck in traffic and the response to our call to let them know we were delayed could not have been nicer. When we fiinally arrived we were warmly greeted and enjoyed an excellent meal. We had not been to Alta for some time, but we will return soon.
Our server was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable and offered a detailed description of the wine special. Food was flavorful, creative and ample. It is nice to see the manager walking around and engaging with being accessible to guests.
3 people for 7pm 1 was 5 min late very rushed to get orders it wasn't busy at all at 830 tables empty around us we split 2 appys and they started taking them away before we were done to make room for our dinner plates not a good experience
We always enjoy dinner at Alta Strada. The menu offers great variety and specials are special! The only downside for us is the noise level. It's just way too noisy for easy conversation. Would love some fabric on the ceiling or windows to absorb some of the energy.
Food was good, standard, Italian fare nicely presented. The wine was quite good. Service was excellent. The place is pretty cookie in decor and loud. Not a great place for any kind of quiet conversation.
