Although part of a global chain, Caffè Nero did a nice job of capturing the distinct history of this Wellesley Hills station designed by architect H.H. Richardson. The building was completed in 1886, and after the station was decommissioned the space was various retail outlets until Nero took over in 2016.
And the food and drink? Relative to other bakeries and coffee shops in Wellesley (there are a lot!) the coffee is good, and the baked goods are workmanlike. An added plus is the large parking lot for the train next door, free on weekends.
I really like the old photos showing the building and interior spaces on the walls. It’s fun to compare “then and now” while you sip a coffee.
P.S. This was the last of nine stations that H.H. Richardson designed for the Boston and Albany Railroad.

This is my favorite spot in Wellesley and the coziest coffee shop I’ve been to
Staffs have gotten really rude and inefficient lately

No place to sit. Full of teenagers hogging all the space having bought one drink four hours ago.
As always great service and good coffee

The café appears to be prematurely closing. Despite the 7 pm closing time, I arrived at 6:05 pm and observed several signs of closure: all pastries were wrapped, only takeout box, the restrooms were closed, staff were actively cleaning, and the air conditioning was excessively cold, making the interior uncomfortable.

Coffee shop seems fine- but you better walk or take the train. I was harassed by a parking attendant when I tried to pay to park.
Excellent americano and fast + efficient baristas.

You have to time it right. Avoid times when people use the tables to work. Lovely old train depot atmosphere! Service is slow. Could use a more customer friendly approach.

The coffee was disgusting and cold, same goes for the service. The girl at the register hates her job and it shows.
