Looking for a “diner” this comes close. Yeah I’m used to NJ diners. Typical food. My eggs with Greek sausage was as expected. Served hot and cooked perfectly. I wish they had real NY style rye.
Very poor service today. Repeatedly ignored requests for water. Rude at check out. Have been many times. Will not go back.

Poor to terrible in all respects? Mushroom omelet was disgusting with few mushrooms and gobs of Swiss cheese for $14.95. When ordered the waitress asked what cheese I wanted. She nevertold me cheese was extra. The toast was ordered crispy and was from a cheap loaf soaked in grill oil. My wife's French toast was wimpy on a white plate with cinnamon coated nuts. The syrup barely poured from a plastic bottle. I ordered decal coffee that came cold. Later regular coffee was poured into it. No water served. Napkins were the cheapest single ply and a small size. The bill with tip was $45. You must be kidding that this is listed as a top 10 place to eat. It was disgusting . It also was a 20 minute wait for food to arrive and the place was empty.
All around negative experience: food, service, atmosphere, and cost.

A Wellesley native recommended Maugus to us, because we love a good family owned diner. I was very disappointed by everything. My mom is weird and she doesn't know how to order like a normal person. She asked for 1 egg, 1 piece of bacon and 1 pancake. This seemed to really confuse our server. She had to repeat back the order several times, so I interjected, asking for a breakfast plate with bacon and a side of pancakes. Well she complety ignored me and I'll admit, they did give her exactly what she ordered. 1 egg, 1 piece of bacon and 1 pancake but they charged us the full price for 3 sides! $5 for one sad piece of bacon! Our total was $55 for 2 of the worst undercooked Irish benedicts I have ever had, and 3 sides, and 1 cup of coffee. The home fries were pretty good though.
I have been visiting this place for more than 5 years already. It is always a good food and the stuff is so friendly. I love the breakfast option and also the omelets.
Great quick breakfast with great service
A nice little restaurant, with good food and service, but the menu's are WAY out of date, expect 50% higher prices and less menu options as per the published menus here.

Awesome place, people and food. I love old school places with good food and genuine people! The best American Cheeseburger ever I'm coming back to try everything on the menu!

My coffee was served lukewarm and the refill was cold. Food was average. Service was OK. The server told me I was wrong that the coffee was hot, it must have been the a/c that made it cold. I will not go here again.
