We were seated in the overflow area and it was not worth the money that the meal cost. The temperature was very cold compared to the main part of the restaurant, the chairs were different and smaller, they totally disrupted our meal half way through to assemble a wall partition and made us move our whole table over 2 feet. It was crowded (after the partition came up we were smushed up against a giant brown plastic wall), and offered zero ambiance. Felt like we were sitting in the second class area yet the menu prices are the same.
We had a great Easter Sunday celebration there today. Everything was absolutely fantastic! The food was amazing, delicious, tasty and beautifully presented, the drinks were the bomb! Our server Collette was perfect! So nice, pleasant, friendly and on point with everything. Everyone there was great, excellent and top notch service all around at this restaurant, always. Thank you so much for making our Holiday special and memorable... we will be back.
for lunch the chicken sandwich is unbelievably good, if you don't have to work afterwards and have time for a nap go for the steak Sandwich its amazeballs!
Lousy start to the night. The people at the front desk couldn't find my reservation ( which was made weeks ago which they finally found after lots of negative questions) and although we requested a table ( medical reasons) they tried to put us at a booth and then made us wait forever until they got us a crappy table against the wall, in the back. Obnoxious waiter, pea soup was horrible, bread was ice cold, drinks were all ice-little vodka, salads and steaks good. Lousy way to celebrate my son's birthday. You should do better for those prices.
Absolutely loved having lunch with our bartender Marshall. Wonderful conversation and great knowledge of the menu and wines. Much easier to get to Wellesley than going into Boston itself. Food was delicious and all the staff were very courteous and friendly. Thank you S&W!!
The restaurant itself is very nice inside and outside but the servers seem to be spread very thin. We were unable to get the attention of our server or any server for that matter, which makes the a nice, expensive meal frustrating. The servers are very straight forward with no menu tour or recommendations. The food was good but the quality did not measure up to the price. The bread is incredibly dense and the fries portions were small as well.
Ben at the bar is awesome, and the staff is always so friendly! Sirloin sandwich and butcher burger are the best!
The octopus cocktail was absolutely incredible. The wine list and recommendations were fantastic. The steaks were really really good. The problem was the service and the price point. The service was very slow and the price just wasn't worth what you're getting. We've had pricier steaks and much pricier dinners. If you're going to run 100$+ a plate you have to be on point on service, attentive, fast. The food wasnt unforgettable. To me, the starters were better than steaks and we'd actually go back for those and drinks over the steaks.
Overall, a fine dinner. Just not worth the dollar value.

For a steakhouse, was surprised that almost all the apps were seafood. Drinks were below average - no fresh juices! Ordered a Cosmo with extra lime and it didn't have any lime... Maybe they had added extra Rose's lime juice, but it did not taste at all like fresh lime juice. Pro tip for this situation is to ask the foodrunner for a lemon from the kitchen, he was able to get me a whole half lemon, which did help! Spicy shrimp app was very good and our server was funny and personable, which definitely made the experience overall a positive one.

Experienced in fine dining with particular regard to high end steakhouse restaurants. Of note, a steakhouse should nail true to temperature and be forthcoming on taking and presenting an order. Smith and Wollensky upholds an American reputation noted to high quality.
Our server at the bar was attentive and personable. Bartender service (only one of three interacted with us) was personalized and rizzed. Orders were placed. The steak temperatures on both orders came out completely incorrect and were noted, returned and remade. No notification other than “we will bring them back”. When they were brought back one was as described and the other completely rarer (both requested medium-rare). It was insisted that the one we thought was rarer was medium rare although it was very rarer looking than the other medium rare dish we ordered beside it. Nonetheless, they were different but anyone knows you can always cook a steak up. Then we were told they couldn’t cook it up except to medium and over what was requested. At which point to our frustration and the order was cancelled.
We made reservations at a steakhouse that cannot cook a steak at the requested temperature. We went without one meal and shared the other. We had hoped this would be a landing place for us to receive a fine meal as we are working class people earning a nice night out. We frequent other restaurants in the same class and caliber and frankly some much more cost effective, family owned and oriented places that know and care about their people. Sorry to say we will not be back. Seems they expect that the name will carry them through but we believe that what you see is what you get.
