I went to Clean Slate Eatery last winter and I’m still thinking about the meal. The food was absolutely unreal every course was so thoughtful, creative, and full of flavor. I also have a few dietary restrictions, and they handled them with so much care and grace that I never once felt like an inconvenience. Truly one of the best dining experiences I’ve had on Cape Cod. Can’t wait to go back!

One of the best meals we've ever had! Loved the cozy intimate atmosphere, getting to interact with the chefs as they prepared and served each dish. It was wonderful to see the preparation that went into each course. Cannot recommend enough!!!

My husband and I were lucky enough to eat here this week - easily one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had. The space at first is a little confusing as it’s so unassuming but you quickly come to appreciate it for how intimate it is. We sat at the bar and watched all the meals being prepped while conversing with the chefs and other diners. I had the vegetarian menu while my husband had the usual. It was all unique and all fantastic.
We’re already looking forward to coming back next year!

This place is not talked about enough! The effort and creativity put into every dish was incomparable to ANY food I've ever eaten on the Cape. I am a huge foodie and grew up on the Cape- and can say I have never been in awe multiple times throughout my meal like I was tonight! Service was perfect, courses were outstanding, you can tell the ingredients were fresh- the entire experience was a foodie's dream. Will be talking about this for the next few months to anyone who will listen.

Clean Slate Eatery is a pure delight. This 16-seat gustatory boutique serves up more than delectable and inventive menus, but the experience of a lifetime. Chef Jason Montigel and his two dextrous colleagues create a quiet explosion of flavor, texture, temperature, and gentle drama (“What’s coming next? How can it possibly match what we have just tasted?”). Plating takes place in front of you. The three principals rotate throughout the evening to serve each dish individually to your table, explaining what you will be tasting and answering questions to enhance the experience. The wine pairing was exceptional. We rediscovered areas of our mouths that we had forgotten were there. Three weeks later my wife and I are still talking about our peak experience. It is as if we had been served Babette’s Feast, one extraordinary dish at a time, and the entire evening created just for us.

Amazing meal from start to finish! Incredibly innovative and filling prix fixe menu that left us wanting to plan our next trip just to return! On top of that, the service was amazing with Jason, Amanda, and Danielle walking us through each dish and even giving us some of the extra homemade sourdough focaccia (one of the best breads I’ve ever had) to take home.
I hope everyone has a chance to try this awesome restaurant!

⭐☆☆☆☆
Absolutely terrible experience with Clean Slate Eatery in terms on customer service. I made a reservation but never received any confirmation — no email, no call, nothing — so I assumed the booking hadn’t gone through. I didn’t show up because I had no idea I even had a reservation.
Only after the time of the reservation passed did I receive a phone call from the restaurant, informing me that not only did I miss my table, but that their policy is to not notify anyone who books — yet still charge them the full price plus gratuity. I was stunned.
What kind of business practice is this? No confirmation, no reminder, no communication at all until it’s too late — and then you expect people to pay as if they were served? Completely unacceptable. Avoid at all costs.

A one-of-a-kind dining experience that’s extremely personalized and stretches your palate. I’m normally not big on fine dining, but this might be the best meal I’ve had on the Cape, ever. Highly recommend whether you’re a local or new to town.

Very cool experience, food was amazing and so different. Everything is unique and different all the way down to the silverware you are given for each course. Highly recommend.

A birthday celebration was the excuse to spend $125/person on the 6 course (with extras) tasting menu. The first dish was the most unique and the standout: daybout scallops with corn ice cream, cornbread crumbles, and ancho chili, a sweet and savory combination hors d'oeuvre bookending with dessert. But after the wonderfully creative beginning, the subsequent dishes got less exciting. The swordfish confit with puttanesca relish and crispy panisse was decent; the scallion pancake was ho-hum; the cheder apple galette was good; the chocolate cremeux was standard. The greatest disappointment, if not offense, was what should have been the pièce de résistance: Where the menu had a kuro blue wagyu, a couple people in my party had requested a meatless option which the restaurant assured me was possible when I made the reservation. But instead they swapped out the expensive, premium, special cut of meat with a piece of uninspired broccoli. The contrast was so stark it felt almost disdainful. And the sentiment was reinforced when I directly asked the chef where the substitute was for the wagyu, to which he curtly said “there” pointing to the pathetic piece of broccoli on my plate. But this is not a comparable alternative in any capacity. One is a protein, the other a vegetable. One is an exotic cut of meat, the other is a commonplace grocery item prepared without any culinary distinction. This amounted to little more than merely removing the meat from the meat dish as their way of accommodating the request. But this is more of a cold snub than the warm hospitality they advertise online as being “happy to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability with proper notification.” If that’s the best of their ability then it’s a lame effort.
