Got take out from here a few years ago when our usual place was closed and was very disappointed. Just tried again— big mistake. Everything is sub par. Fried rice is flavorless, texture and flavor of instant rice. Boneless spareribs are too sweet and bland and somehow lacking in real flavor. Cashew chicken was gummy, too sweet, chicken was actually fried yet limp, and lacking in flavor. Wonton soup was bright yellow, too salty, just canned broth with a few flavorless wontons. Worse than mall Chinese food. We prefer Wild Blossom (also in Westwood) by a long shot, will not be coming back here. Mystified by the generally positive reviews.

I moved to this area after being spoiled with the great Chinese restaurants in the Newton/Boston area and having lived in San Francisco for many years with their amazing Asian foods so I was a little skeptical of finding a good place here in Westwood. But this place not only met my expectations but far exceeded them. They do an amazing job with all the basics like lo mien, fried rice and dumplings and their food is consistently fresh and delicious. I’ve never been disappointed and I am definitely a regular. Thank you, folks.

Order issues. Ordered Chow Mein but they don’t serve this noodle dish with noodles. Fine they swapped it out for a noodle dish. Didn’t receive the general gau chicken we ordered so they made it for us but it was soggy and cold when I picked it up? They made me bring back the dishes that were wrong and I wanted to make sure they were going to throw out the food because we opened it and people tried a bite before realizing the order was wrong. The front desk put it down in front of her and said they would “take care of it” instead of directly throwing it in the trash! I told her we all were sick and it needs to be thrown out. But she still didn’t toss it. And with that, my family will never order from there again. Are they reserving the food? So gross. On top of all of this, the food was incredibly bland.

Blue Orchid is consistently great food. I usually do delivery and the food always arrives scalding hot and fresh. The service over the phone, or if I go to pick it up, is always cheerful and friendly. Been going here for ten years and never had a bad meal.

$200 worth of food in the bin absolutely disgusting food was horrible. Got the order wrong and when I opened the bag, it was sloppy mess cold tasteless everything went in the van. Don’t waste your money. It is a rip off also. My wife threw up after eating the meat

After reading some reviews, I decided to come here for dinner. The waitress has provided lovely service and the food comes out very quick. When I ordered their crab rangoons, it arrived with massive decoration and I can instantly tell that they care a lot about their customers. Aside from that, it’s a very peaceful place with friendly staff at the front desk. I even tried their basil fried rice, hot and sour soup, and sesame chicken and it was UNBELIEVABLE. It’s like they added a secret ingredient inside that makes the food perfect! I will definitely come back soon!!

Hello, this is my honest review of this restaurant: Food: The dishes was great; I just thought of it as a little greasy, but you can always request less oil. Overall this restaurant is very flexible when it comes to modifications such as allergies and etc. If you ever dine in, the way they plate up the food is very beautiful and appetizing. (I like the kung pao chicken here a lot.) Service: The people are very nice, they treated me with a lot of respect. In general this restaurant is a good find and if you ever want to a fast grub, this is the place. Whats cool about Blue Orchid is that they are pretty quick and I have received my food in the span of 5 minutes. In addition their single order of dishes like the general gaos chicken can easily serve 2 people.
