Playa Bowls in Westwood is always a hit for us. The smoothies are excellent — I just had another great one today. It’s become one of my family’s favorite spots for both breakfast and lunch. Consistently fresh, quick, and tasty.

I placed an online order for some mango bowls for my husband's employees. The website and the ordering process were very clear, and ordering was simple amd efficient. The guys picked the order up, so I have no idea what the actual store is like, but I have tried and definitely recommend both the acai and the mango bowls!

Gloves should be automatically worn when dealing with food. The woman At the Westwood location went from counting cash money to scooping the granola in a bowl and adding açaí without gloves. I had to ask her to put on gloves. I’ve also noticed in the location near Boston College that people will do everything from changing the trash, touching everything and then go right to preparing food While wearing the same gloves. I have addressed those employees as well. I’ve enjoyed Playa Bowls for years and have been a loyal customer. However, I have found food prep cleanliness issues at three locations. The third location was in Milton Massachusetts, where the young man was not wearing gloves, texting on his phone and then going to prepare food. Phones are everywhere and contain all kinds of germs. I had to tell him last year that he needed to wash his hands and put on gloves. That I as a customer have to continuously admonish Playa Bowl employees on food prep cleanliness is outrageous. And seeing that I had to address Playa Bowl employees on their cleanliness and handling food at multiple locations seems to be an overall issue for the company at large, Not just relegated to individual store locations. I will not continue to patronize establishments where basic hygiene and cleanliness in food preparation are not adhered to. Playa Bowl needs to train their staff on proper food preparation.
