Went tonight after years of driving by. There was only one other couple dining, at 5:30pm. Not a good sign. Hubby ordered the "tour of Italy" while I chose the Caesar salad with "grilled chicken, home made croutons", etc. We were first brought out a basket of bread (which seamed cold from the fridge, or possibly was room temperature as there didn't appear to be heat in the place. Our server even said she was freezing.) Well, there was one slice of bread in the basket, and then the end "heal" piece of the loaf. I gave hubby the slice and I ate the crust. The Tour of Italy was a loose interpretation of chicken parm with a meatball, and a sausage with sauce over spaghetti, layered with cheese on top and put under the broiler. Hubby said the sauce was good, and that's about it. My salad with the "grilled" chicken turned out to be slices of the same baked chicken my husband had on his pasta, two very different flavors, absolutely not grilled chicken. There was very little dressing and no croutons. The cook came out to the dining room, Upon my asking about the missing "homemade croutons" I was told they didn't have any but she could make some. The cook offered to throw some French bread into the oven to make me some croutons. You don't make croutons in 10 minutes! At the conclusion of the meal my husband then pointed out the salt and pepper shakers on the tables which were absolutely disgusting. The server was pleasant, but the quality of the food, which for the most part didn't even resemble what their own menu said they were serving, was very poor. I guess we will just keep driving by for now on.
Had an early dinner, I ordered prime rib, medium rare, done to perfection. Service was exemplary,
My son ordered haddock parm. and said Sally’s sauce was perfect.

Just finished dinner at the Glen Caffe and it was excellent! I had the Haddock Parmesan... absolutely delicious. My boyfriend got the salmon and his mother got the Taste of Italy, and they loved both of those. I really should have eaten only half, as there was plenty for another meal. But it was so good I didn't want to stop! We had driven by the Glen Caffe many times, and this was our first time eating there. What a wonderful surprise!
I was very surprised, the owner was very attentive and the bartender/ server was very nice.

Great food ?
Was visiting a friend and decided to stop and eat before heading back to Boston at which we chose Glen Caffe for and late lunch. The atmosphere was very family oriented and relaxing; not to mention how polite the staff are; as we entered we were greeted with smiles! Our waiters was fairly new but did a great job describing the menu and answering any questions or politely excusing herself to get answers from the kitchen to our questions regarding food allergies and if the kitchen could accommodate substitutions. They had a variety of options, something for everyone which my son (a four year old) had his favorite mac & cheese “which he devoured.” My husband chose the diamond steak and chose the homemade sauce with spaghetti and meatballs “which were to die for!”The adult beverage options were great and complimented just about any & every dish on the menu; I totally will make the drive back to dine again besides visiting my friends!Highly recommend a visit if your looking to just relax, eat warm quality food and have conversation with adults or a family dinner night out!
I have eaten at this restaurant many times. The staff is always welcoming and the atmosphere is warm. There are a lot of different options on the menu and I am always pleased with the flavor. I strongly recommend trying it out next time you are in the Winchendon area.
Delicious meals with abundant quantity and flavors. Meatballs, pot roast and the Scallop salad are a few of my favorites. Try it, you won’t regret it!

Casual atmosphere with a nice menu, daily specials and reasonable prices. Well worth stopping by!
The Glen Caffe has excellent food. We had the pot roast special and it was fabulous. Salad was the freshest I have had in a restaurant in a very long time.
