Haven't been to the arms in like 10 years . We sat in lobby area at a high top. Food was great we had prime rib and baked haddock. Yummy! Would definately go back.

I've been a loyal and avid customer for 30 years. Here's why: There is valet parking, you are always greeted by friendly people, in 30 years I have never, and I honestly mean this, had a bad meal at Winthrop Arms Restaurant. Their menu is fabulous with so many different kinds of choices and their cocktail menu is varied and I can say that I've tried most of them! Lol. The service has always been wonderful, the ambience is warm and in a super clean environment, that is well decorated . It is still my favorite restaurant.

Beautiful location in Winthrop and a widely varied menu. Our party enjoyed the chowder and chicken pie.

Everything was good, we had a booth which was asked for during booking. Service was a little slow but we wanted to be at dinner a little longer, we definitely weren't rushed. The problem was when I was placing my food in the to go container, at the bottom of my bowl was a butter wrapper?? Whose butter wrapper, I don't know??? They need to be more aware in their kitchen. We notified the waitress and no amends were offered. So we tipped 25% and we went on our way. Not sure if I will go back, I love the Arms but this was a first and I'm kinda sad☹️.

We celebrated a birthday, it was a perfect place to have it. The food was delicious, one of my favorite places to dine. The waiters staff was excellent, very accommodating when I brought a cake. They put candles on and sang happy birthday. I would definitely recommend Winthrop Arms to dine at.

Always great food, service and ambiance! I have been a customer for decades, I have never been disappointed!

Our dinner was outstanding and our waitress had over 30 years of experience. I would go back for another meal anytime we're in the area.

Usually very happy here but tonight was off. Horrendous slow service and out of the excellent cheese dip. Was a disappointment.

Cool quirky place. Nice old school menu. Very quiet on a Monday and we ate outside, so no racket at all, but it looks like it must get very busy at other times

Saw the review on the Phantom...the Phantom never, ever lets us down!! Walking in we saw the original Owner who happened to be there- his son owns it now. What a great guy...he said 1st time here? And we had a nice little conversation. Old school charm and the food was absolutely top notch. We had clams and onion rings as an appetizer....brought them home and reheated the next day- still amazing. We had a turkey dinner- better than homemade if that's possible. Prime rib- perfect and the mac n cheese is to die for. We took home a chicken pot pie but have not had that yet. The people are friendly and the service was excellent-Justin was attentive, helpful and kind. Truly can't say enough. We look forward to going back.

Great overall value & menu options. Our party got Turkey, Haddock and Lobster. All were on point. The prime Rib that went by us looked fantastic.

I really don't want to complain, but one of our meals was completely wrong. The meal I ordered was Veal Amanda, (which I have had many times before). The meal I was served was Veal Parmesan. Every one else got their correct meal. The waitress apologized for the mixup and said she knew I ordered Veal Amanda. She said she would exchange it. My meal didn't come out until 15 minutes later. My husband and friends waited for my meal to be served before they started eating. Their meals were cold by then. My husband and I have eaten here before and we always enjoy the food, service and atmosphere. This time we had brought friends (who have never been here) and they were surprised at the mixed up meal and their cold food. I really think all our food should have been served together and served warm. No apology for their cold food. We all took the food home. Joyce Lennon

The scampi scallop gnocchi dish turned out to be a soupy stew with the seafood rubbery/ overcooked and poorly seasoned. It was practically inedible and definitely not worth the price we paid.

Always consistent, this "value-driven" restaurant never disappoints. Friendly wait-staff tries to attend to every request. Outdoor and indoor seating. Nice renovation (extended bar). Overall, our dining experience was terrific. The menu is vast with something for everyone. Priced right with the portions outstanding. Tried the fried clam appetizer, which was excellent. Our group enjoyed the fish dishes-can't miss. Worth the trip.. a bit of a "hidden gem" off the beaten track, but definitely worth the trip to Winthrop. Valet parking on weekends is a plus.

Sadly there have been changes here and isn't as good as it used to be. Sat in the bar with a reservation and no one came over to us for 20 minutes. The staff is totally different. No longer will do a side caesar salad, they changed the buffalo chicken mac n cheese to shredded chicken instead of breaded and the chef will not make it the old way so we had to order a side of tenders to put on top of the mac n cheese ourselves and the mac n cheese was TINY compared to what we used to be served. Just disappointing as this was our go to place every Friday for the prime rib (which has also been overcooked the past 3 times). We keep saying we will give it another chance and everyone we do, we are more disappointed.
