We had a wonderful dining experience at the Old Yarmouth Inn. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was outstanding. A special thank you to Maria, who was friendly, attentive, and truly made our evening better. She patiently helped me with my lobster and ensured everything was perfect throughout our meal. We highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to visiting again.

I can't believe how excellent was this restaurant, since the moment we went in, we were received by a very kind and elegant host, and the waiter and the rest of the staff was impressive, the quality of the service and the food truly shows how good it it

Always excellent, though reservations generally seem to be a necessity for the last 2 years.

2026 update:
Reservations seem to be less necessary now. We've been able to get into the bar/tavern without waiting the last few times we've gone in without waiting, which was nice. Still seems busy for the springtime on the Cape but that's not a bad thing.

Our first time dining here last Friday and it was amazing! We had a made a mistake on our end with the reservation and they were super accommodating and able to fit us in, even on a busy night. The food was amazing, I had the scallops w/ bacon risotto and my boyfriend had the chicken piccata! The clam chowder was also the best we have ever had. Will definitely be back again soon, especially to enjoy the patio!

Good food however we wait for too long (more than 40 min) for our main courses.

We dined from the 3 before 6 menu. This is an excellent choice if you are hungry and arrive early. Samantha was our server and she was excellent! The Chowder was delicious and the lobster bisque was very good also. I had the chicken, which was literally a half of a chicken. The meat was good, I did take away the skin, due to dietary concerns. The potatoes and the vegetables had more of the oil from the chicken added to it, which was unavoidable but unfortunate for the flavor. The stuffed sole melted in your mouth and was very good.
The blueberry crumble was a nice finish to a great meal.

Can not say enough about the dinner and. Wine selections. We try to dine there once a month. Our favorite is the haddock with panko flavored breadcrumbs topped with 2 large shrimps. From the owner to the staff eating at the Olde is very much an at home feeling. Thanks for accommodating our granddaughter (14 months) and her grandparents and parents. See you again next month.

We had a wonderful dining experience from start to finish. Our server, Maria, was friendly, attentive, and genuinely added to the enjoyment of our evening. The food stood out for its clean, fresh flavors — nothing overwhelming, just well-balanced and delicious.
We started with fresh ciabatta rolls and a beautifully piped brown‑butter floret, a simple but memorable touch. We shared the clam chowder and a blue crab cake with Dijon mustard sauce, both flavorful and well-prepared.
For entrées, I ordered the pistachio‑crusted Icelandic cod over sun‑dried tomato risotto. The portion was generous, and the fish was perfectly cooked. The seafood trio — scallops, shrimp, and haddock, rice, and green beans — was another excellent choice, offering a nice variety without feeling heavy.
My wife chose the 3‑Before‑6 price‑fix menu, which included clam chowder, an entrée, and dessert at a set price. Her portions were slightly smaller, as expected for a price‑fix offering, but still satisfying and well worth it.
We finished with the chocolate chip bread pudding — rich, comforting, and so good that we took it home because we were already full.
Overall, it was a great meal with excellent service, fresh flavors, and thoughtful portions. We’ll happily return. Our only disappointment was discovering the restaurant is closed on Wednesdays — we enjoyed our Tuesday dinner so much that we wanted to come back the very next night, especially after seeing several tables order the drunken half chicken, which looked incredible. Also, we did not drink any alcoholic libations just lemonade.

I gotta say this place was a nice surprise. Not only is it inviting and decorated beautifully but the food is very good!
We both enjoyed what we chose.
Special touches like linen tablecloth service and pleasant staff made this a more elevated experience. We will definitely go back.

It was a very pleasant dining experience on New Years Eve. The Service was OK, as the waiter seemed a little distracted with all that he had to do on this very busy night. We loved the location of our seats as the area was very conducive to conversation, while still able to hear the live saxophone playing. The drinks were perfect, as our request was very specific. The prime rib was flavorful, but not hot, and a little soft (squishy?) that made it difficult to cut, even with a steak knife. The short ribs were excellent, tender, and full of flavor. The vegetables served with the short ribs were excellent, especially the grape tomatoes. However, the mixed vegetables with the prime rib were OK, but not hot, and the carrots were undercooked and hard. The mashed potatoes served with both meals were plentiful, hot and excellent!! The lemon cake we had for dessert was terrific. Overall, while a little pricey, we kinda expected that given that it was New Years Eve. However, we were told on the phone when we checked the reservations, that there would not be a special holiday menu, only the regular menu at regular prices. That was obviously NOT the case.

Yarmouth House never disappoints. The menu has lots and lots of choices. The restaurant is always tastefully decorated with a current theme; i.e., Easter, Christmas, etc. I have always experienced delicious food, generous portions and wonderful wait staff. Looking forward to returning soon.
