Tuesday, December 5. We were excited to try this supposed gem in Carman. Hours on Google say open until 4pm (only 4pm?). My partner called at 2:59pm to confirm they’d still serve us food at 3:30pm arrival (we were trying to be thoughtful/careful to avoid showing up at a small restaurant 30minutes before closing time expecting a full meal (the drive is about 30minutes from Winkler)).We arrive around 3:30 as discussed, very hungry and thrilled to try their schnitzel dishes… just to see food closing hours of 2pm on the wall and the employee to say ‘we are out of breaded schnitzel’. This did not make sense as my partner had specifically asked on the 2:59pm phonecall if we’d still be served food at 3:30 and were told yes by the man… without any hesitation/contingencies/warnings/notes.We made sure to call before we drove out of Winkler… (Winkler is filled with food gems, I don’t get to visit often, and we were very hungry).Poor customer service by the man on the phone caused this issue, and to make it worse… when we arrived my partner explained that we called to confirm about this, and still the employee didn’t apologize to us for the wrongful inconvenience.We then drove back to Winnipeg hungry, and I was pretty frustrated about the whole experience!

Came here for the schnitzel burgers and I wasn’t disappointed. They. Are. So. Good. This place is my only reason to ever stop in Carmen now.

I've eaten here before. Today was another fantastic meal from Crazy lady's cafeteria. Today I ordered a Reuben with potatoe salad. The Reuben was a very generous size. I shared it with my mom. It was delicious. The owner is always very friendly, we love coming for lunch here.

The loaded grilled cheese was my son's new favorite way to have grilled cheese, schnitzel burger was fresh and delicious, the Greek steak sandwich burger was out of this world. All fresh ingredients, lovely owner who was very friendly and welcoming. We left with some delicious baked goods to try later! Loved our visit, we will be back! Thank you!!!

Lovely place! The baking is amazing and I bought 5 turnovers and lemon squares. Great prices and so tasty and fresh!

Amazing schnitzel sandwiches, good coffee & home made chocolate cake topped with a rum ball for dessert.Staff is so helpful especially since our first time here. She also sells various health conscious groceries.

Definitely worth stopping in here! I popped in for a treat while driving through town, grabbed a donut and date square (both delicious!). After getting to my car I decided to walk back and grab the schnitzel burger - so glad I did! It was so flavourful, I enjoyed every bite. The owner was very friendly and helpful when I asked about the menu and different items she had in the store. A small town gem.
