What used to be a charming bar at the center of town is now a depressing low class VLT casino. Understaffed irritated bar tenders act like they don’t want you ordering drinks. You have to get buzzed in and they make you wait in line to get in despite being nowhere near capacity.
If you’re not a VLT gambler or a local regular they will make sure you feel unwelcome in their establishment. Although I didn’t see any bikes outside or anyone who looked like a biker I got the feeling the bar owners were cosplaying as a club bar with all their unnecessary security. But at the same time cosplaying as a speakeasy VLT casino.
Garbage cans don’t exist here except behind the bar top and in the bathrooms. So if you have garbage you’re incentivised to leave it on a table or to bother a bar tender with it.
They don’t have a water station which means their standoffish bar staff have to serve waters to people who could have otherwise served themselves.
The place has so much potential.

Great, classic breakfast. Bacon, eggs, hash browns, toast, coffee. The building is pretty old, but kept up enough and decorated with lots of fun old stuff.
Wheelchair accessibility: Have to go up half a flight of stairs to enter the restaurant.
The walk into the restaurant is very dated, with the restaurant on one side, bar across in another room, beer vendor as you enter. It has its charm in the restaurant, high ceilings, retro collectibles and pictures. The food is old style cafe quality, you get a lot, for a margin of the price, you would pay at a chain restaurant. Hash browns, you can get cubed or shredded with grilled onions, choice of toast. They have daily specials for breakfast/lunch, and a soup of the day. If you have never went to the "oldie", you should. Service is great, staff helpful.
Food is delicious and the prices are unbeatable for Gimli. Very very good.

Food Okay. If waitress is in a bad mood, she will ignore you until you leave. Too bad. I normally tip her more than 20%. Now, when I bring in my 4 vehicles for work in the shop across the street, I will go elsewhere for breakfast. Poor service in a town with so many restaurants is a good way to lose regular customers.

The "Oldie" is always the spot from breakfast with me. Great Denver omlete. Always people there and that speaks volumes. Friendly servers.
