My mom brought me this Vinarterta from gimli to Vancouver. Don’t buy the Vinarterta or waste your money. Probably the worst I’ve tasted in my life and I’m Icelandic and have been spoiled with the best home made Vinarterta. This cake had no cardamom in it which is in the traditional recipe and the ingredients were all wrong. Milk, cream and egg don’t belong in this recipe. They also use artificial extract and not pure. Don’t waste your money. 45$ for 1/2 a cake - what a rip off. Kyles Vinarterta in Winnipeg is way better and it’s vegan. He uses a traditional recipe with cardamom and more prunes - so it’s moist. Unfortunately he doesn’t ship to Vancouver. Just truly disappointed how they butchered this traditional recipe. I’d give it 0 if I could

I visited this booth at Scattered Seeds and bought some carrot muffins. I specifically asked if they had raisins and was told “in those ones, no.” When I got home and tried one, there were raisins inside.
Unfortunately, my dogs later got into the muffins, and because raisins are toxic to dogs, this ended up costing me a $1,200 vet bill.
I’m not blaming them for my dogs getting into the food, but it’s really important that staff know the correct ingredients in what they’re selling. I never would’ve bought them in the first place if I’d known. Giving out wrong information can have serious consequences — imagine if it had been a child with a severe allergy. Please be more careful.

Very pleased with our wedding cake! After being utterly annoyed with the customer service of several other bakery’s we decided to give Sugar Me Cookie a try. EXTREMELY HAPPY WE DID! The cake tasted amazing and the price was very reasonable given we had a 3 tier cake that looked like a Birch tree. Great customer service, no BS unnecessary “taste tests” where they charge you like so many other bakery’s do. We came in, tried some free delicious samples, talked about what we liked and they made the order. We picked up the cake on our wedding day and were beyond impressed. Save yourself the frustration and get your wedding cake here!

It was the first time I have had it so I can’t speak to the authenticity, but the raspberry Vinaterta was delicious. It is surprisingly light tasting considering how dense it is.
