I picked up three loaves of rye sourdough bread. To lay some groundwork, sourdough is the only bread we eat and have tried it from numerous bakeries in Winnipeg and from country bakeries. This was absolutely the best I have ever tasted. I wish I had bought all the loaves on the shelves. It was perfect - great crust, soft interior and the taste was delicious. I highly recommend this bakery! All the products looked equally good. Will definitely buy more when I am back in Glenboro...
I really wanted to love this local bakery! We only tried donuts and the apple fritter muffin, but they were disappointing 😞 . The donuts were tasty, but the dough must have been overworked and they were all very chewy. Flavours were good though. The muffin was quite dense, and really just tasted of sugar. They all LOOKED so good!
The service was super friendly, the showcase featured many tempting desserts, the lunch specials of subs or pizza are reasonably priced and all this served in a charming atmosphere with a little hint of the past!
