Finally, after hearing about this place for years, got to check it out. It didn't disappoint. Worth the trip for the atmosphere alone, both inside the restaurant and outside with the view of the river and dam. Stunning. The food was really as expected. Good, downhome feel. Not exceptional but any means, but not terrible. None of us tried the famous hotdog and I wish someone had. Enjoyed overall by our family of 6 and a nice cap to the day. We all enjoyed hanging out in the arcade after, as well and spent a good amount of time admiring the river and locks in action. We only wish the mini juke box at each table worked! so fun! The bathrooms were a little lacking. One had no toilet paper and one had no soap but we told them and it was quickly rectified. It was a particularly busy, late September Day. Run off their feet. The ladies working the counter weren't particularly friendly, though as I said, it was very busy. There was one error on our order but it was fixed when I went up.

Had the 1/4 pounder & curly fries. Fries were hot & tasty. Burger was loaded & tasty but not fresh-hot. Skinner's reminds me of beach food, but no beach, but has a good view of the bridge & curtain locks.

Window & Counter service hard & soft ice cream and “Hot Dogs” & burgers. Two business in Lockport. One by the waterfront & directly across from the locks. We had ice cream and watched boats get lowered in the locks from high side to low side. Very interesting :)

Very disappointed, especially with the Lockport Dog. Very small and not particularly flavourful. Backyard BBQ dogs are much better. Also, the hard ice cream was either poorly stored or very old as it had ice crystals in it.
