Hespeler's Cookhouse & Tavern

I've been going here for several years this was the first complaint. My burger was way overdone to the point of dried out.
Servers here are great, I'll still go back, maybe a new cook made a mistake?

Honestly if I could give 0 I would: we were in town for a tournament and made a reservation: got there and they said they were busy and food would take at least 45 minutes which we were all fine with. Problem was it took 30 minutes before we got drinks, half of us went to the bar to get our own, had to grab our own menus, kids orders were taken first which was 100% fine, then 40 minutes later they came to take adults orders (drinks were still not served to some at this point). Another 30 minutes and the kids finally got their orders and ate. Jump another 35 minutes finally adults food was out and kids drinks were served (note this is half an hour after kids got their meals did they get their ordered drinks)!! At this point we told the waiter to get our bills as we wanted to leave. The food was horrid and cold. I would not recommend to anyone Espically with a group. Sad part is they were promoted all over the tournament to host the hockey teams!

This was a great place. I was told that part of the proceeds from the restaurant go towards making it more affordable for the seniors place and assisted living facility connected to it.

Food is great, staff are always friendly. Good portions and great value. The place can get loud, but regardless, highly recommend.

Parking: Visitor parking is nice and close, the main parking lot is a very short walk, be careful of the reserved parking spots.

Kid-friendliness: Tuesday kids eat free with purchase of adult entree, also there are board games available on Tuesday for entertainment

Service was good. The waitress was friendly and endeavored to make your time there pleasant. This is the second time I have tried to take my crew there for lunch for a hot meal. The first time we got our orders after an hour wait. I had to leave to open the shop back up. That was over a year ago. I tried again to take the crew out for lunch. Friendly service but from the time of order to the time getting the hour again was over an hour. Again I had to leave without eating. We take an hour for lunch. If you want to go to Hespeler's you better make sure you have plenty of time because from the time you order until the time you get your food is an hour plus in some cases. That has been the case on multiple occasions even after 5 pm. Not impressed at all with the extremely slow service. Not recommending Hespeler's if you have a time restraint any time of the day. The food I can't comment on because each time I have gone there I have had to leave before I got my food due to schedules. Just to note, we didn't order anything that had a cook time. We had ordered sandwiches and burgers. Not impressed at all.

Not the greatest experience. Decent food but disappointed they left out an item from my order. Was nice that they accommodated a gluten free option and confirmed they keep a dedicated gluten free fryer. Alright if you’re looking for a burger and fries.

I received wonderful service! I enjoyed my fish and chip platter. The fries were amazing. Food was ready when it was said it would be. Clean restaurant and bar.

I got charged for an extra beer because the bar girls can't keep track. My first beer was paid.
Yup...keep screwing your patrons! That's the way to do business!
