Chicken Chef Steinbach & Window 365

My mom went to pick up an order of only thighs 9 piece order. 100% clear to the workers that's all she wanted. The order was made and handed over. Upon inspecting when she got home she noticed the order was incorrect and had a bunch of white meat, and only 2 thighs. She called in and spoke with the manager. The manager was rude and blamed it on my mother for Chicken chefs screw up, and took zero responsibility for it. The manager also refused to make note and comp part or whole of the meal. After the manager argued multiple times finger pointing the blame, the manager only offered one thing stating my mother would have to drive all the way back(30minutes one direction), to exchange the order for the correct items immediately. Unprofessional is the only word that explains this place. Fair warning to those who decide to order from this location, check your order before you leave! Otherwise they will blame you and refuse any responsibility in their errors.

Another legacy restaurant in Steinbach that chooses to reduce portions, buy cheaper ingredients and increase prices.

Their chicken and pizza still make it a viable restaurant but everything else on the menu is a waste of money.

This location has recently added many items to the menu. My honey dill chicken poutine was sublime! My daughter loved her burger as well! Our server, (I believe her name was Hannah) was such a nice young lady and she made sure we were happy customers!

First and last time dining here. Service was horrible the young blond waitress with braces did not want to seve us. Guess you have to be local. Also restaraunt was so dirty from hand ptints on the windows to chicken and frys on the floor, Just grungy

Excellent service and food

The Steinbach Chicken Chef has definitely declined recently! The service is not great and is not as friendly as it used to be.

Update: May 26, 2025…..I came back to order some chicken and something has changed, sorry but I will not order from chicken chef sreinbach again!!!

Why did you change the pizza dough recipe? It was terrible. Almost 0 sauce. VERY DISAPPOINTED

Horrible. We went for dine in had a Saled and my bf had poutine. Took 45 to get our food we were the only people in the restaurant other people came in and got there food before we did our server never came to fill our empty glasses just walked right past us and after waving her down she came by asking “should I get you anything else” instead of “may I” felt like she was forced to be there. We gave it another shot for take out a week later Charged us for coleslaw and when we got home didn’t even get it. Should’ve gone to KFC

Quality is definitely lacking since new owners. We ordered a forever favourite chef's classic pizza and it was nearly impossible to eat. The skin was left on giant onion chunks, so couldn't bite through. And the bacon had been over browned, so by the time it was then done again in the oven it was teeth breaking hard. The service gets a 1 too because I sent an email rather than post a bad review, no reply. Guess they pick honest review. We will wait a other few months and give them another try. Hopefully it's just the growing pains of new business, happens to everyone. Just wish they had cared enough to try to make it right this time around.
