The atmosphere was great, the lighting and seating were good, as well as the service. I'm updating my review as of 2026 - I had the Chicken Pot pie and it was fantastic, my youngest had a burger and it also looked great! I certainly recommend it. My only issue was in the booth, my seat wiggled and that wasn't pleasant.

Our server was very good; however, our order was missed in the kitchen and we waited approximately an hour for our food, which was far too long. My bacon cheeseburger was good, but my husbandâs stir-fry was very overcooked and had a mushy texture. We were offered dessert as compensation but time was now an issue.

The thankfully was kind enough to take something off the bill because it wasnât great but the fries I have never had hot oil shoot out a fry into my mouth before it also gave my mum terrible diarrhea and I an upset stomach.

Been here many times for fish and chips. Tonight was awful. Tasted like they just ground up fish and batter was so tough all four of us couldnât cut through it. Wonât be back. And we drove from Winnipeg for a treat. Very disappointed.

We haven't been to Sawney's in a long time so we thought it would be nice to go back. Well the menu has changed and it's pretty average, nothing to set itself apart from any other ordinary restaurant. My husband has the chicken pot pie. It came deconstructed ( ladled filling on the plate a puff pastry top sitting on it with a side of bland mash potatoes. A total lazy way of presenting and the taste was bland.. I had the fish and chips. Nothing spectacular either, I've had better elsewhere . They have removed anything to do with the UK in the decor and very limited in its menu. Bland and non subscript is what Sawney Beans has become.
The food was delicious. Friendly staff! Nice and quiet place. Highly recommended.
