We waited about 90 minutes for our food after ordering. Even then, my food was overcooked but I did not want to send it back because I was afraid it would take another 90 minutes. Despite this, they charged us a 15% gratuity. They should have given us a discount for making us wait for so long.

Unfortunately, I was disappointed. We waited 90 minutes for our food. The menu listed spaghetti with meat sauce at $15, but I was charged an extra $6 for the meat sauce. On top of that, there was a forced gratuity despite the extreme wait. My spaghetti lacked flavor, had barely any meat sauce, and was overall not enjoyable. The atmosphere was very nice and our server was polite, but the speed of service and quality of the food did not match the setting.

We had lunch there today, it was busy. The hostess handled everything so well. I was very impressed. The food was fast and yummy. Miigwech 😋

The place we originally wanted to go to was closed so we headed to John & Jessie’s for lunch instead. Had never been here before.

Parking is a bit tight but it’s a smaller restaurant so it gives a good indication of if there’s available spots. There’s also parking in the a&w lot if you have a larger vehicle or it’s full.

It has old time restraint/small town & diner feels to it on entry. I’m not sure if you seat yourself as we had someone who had already arrived ahead of time to secure us a table.

There are booths & tables available.

The menu we were offered had appys and lunch options, also a senior menu.
It had a decent variety of options. Mostly handhelds. The special was fish & chips. I opted for the grilled chicken burger with side poutine.

I wasn’t sure what to expect with how the space seemed a bit less modern, however I am glad to say I was pleasantly surprised. The food was fantastic! Large portions sizes. They cut the chicken to fit the entire burger which is something that doesn’t happen often but is well appreciated. The fries were skinny but SO well seasoned and tasty. Food arrived warm. The gravy was rich, the burger bun was delicious and stayed together nicely.

My friends all really enjoyed their meals as well (chicken wrap, fish & chips and monte cristo).

Service was prompt and meal wait time was about twenty minutes for a group of five + others in the restaurant.

I would definitely return and recommend!

Stay away! These are scammers who will sell you a cardboard-like steak and try to tell you that it's a ribeye. Stay away please!

We read that they had the best ribs in Manitoba and we had to try. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of service and treating of the food!!

The dishes are tasty with lots to enjoy. Sélection on the menu is plenty. Staff were very efficient and friendly.

Good food! Friendly staff.

Friendly staff, however, food is very bland and generic. The homemade fries were not great. Everything felt undercooked and almost cold. For the price (~$20 per person), the food was sadly not worth it. Also, most drinks were out of stock (hot chocolate, orange juice, apple juice). Nice cozy, vintage environment but overall not worth it in my opinion.

They serve home fries! Menu is good, and we've never had a bad meal. The only issue is their hours - they're not always open when we're in town & want a meal.

Kid-friendliness: Totally kid friendly and accommodating.
