The burger and fries were ok. Nothing special. The fries are a bit overpriced (They cost as much as the burger itself). But there is a very nice patio. The charm of this place is its location (just after the bridge, overlooking the river). Overall, it's a decent restaurant for small town Manitoba.
The place has been run by the same lady for over 50 years. I'm 42 and had my first ever cheeseburger here way back in the early 80's. I grew up in northern Manitoba but I haven't been back in about 22 years. When I discovered Popeyes was still there the decision of where to eat was an easy one. This place has been making great burgers longer than I've been alive and they're still doing it today. Unfortunately it exists on the literal edge of nowhere...
This is an old school walk up and order mom & pop burger shop. It's a bit rustic but the service and food are great. The best homemade fries and burgers in the north. If you visit Thompson in the spring through fall, this stop is a must. Great value but beware..cash only.
