Our visit was enjoyable at L &J's
Positive;
The food was good
Service at the window was attentive
Great park off the highway to relax in on a nice day
Negative:
-Ordered a large vanilla milkshake to share with my partner, we drank half and threw the rest out between the two of us, it tasted like old whipped cream and tasted like it had vanilla extract dumped in it.
-When ordering on the phone prior to pick up, they asked questions which was good however too many making the process very difficult, asked me to spell my name letter by letter first and last which for 20 letters is alot. Plus the usual phone number/time etc. The name spelling was quite excessive.

Good sized menu with a lot of variety and vegetarian options such as veggie burger and grilled cheese panini. Staff was friendly and helpful. Food was delicious and used very fresh ingredients - burgers were cooked well and not greasy. Small park-like setting with many benches to eat outside. Will stop by again!

Something I greatly appreciate as a truck driver is good parking and clean bathrooms! This place has both. A single bacon cheeseburger and small fries was just under $13. Was asked if I wanted my fries with seasoning salt and I knew this would be a good place to eat! Burger was on the smaller side ( I don't mind that) thin patty grilled almost crispy, well seasoned. Bacon was nice and crisp, as well as the lettuce and tomato.

Stopped in for a bite to eat and got worst poutine I've ever had...poutine looked like the cheese was a slice of kraft cheese...gross..the cheese burger wasn't any better...a very thin patty...not worth the trip....it was disgusting...I just threw out the poutine...Summer shack is still the best
Great Driven Stand. Very good menu .

Worst Poutine ever !
I ordered a poutine because I figured you can’t go wrong with a poutine.
Boy was I wrong
A single Kraft Cheese Slice on top of some fries with next to no gravy for about $6-7!
How can anyone call this a poutine ?! I wouldn’t even call this cheese fries
I find it hard to believe anyone actually likes this!
I’m sure people think oh safe choice I love poutine and then they end up with that disgrace
I wish I took a picture and returned it. I’ve never left a bad review before but this needs to be said.
I’ve had many different poutines but this is definitely the worst one ever.
Please if you like this poutine get checked out because something is seriously wrong with you
Then go get a proper poutine.

Our golf group heads to L&J's after every round! Yummy hard/soft ice cream, shakes, sundaes and grill items. There is lots of room behind to snack on a park bench.

The best real cheesecake flurry I've ever had. Actual cheesecake mixed in not that brown sugary powdery stuff most ice cream shops use. Delicious!!

Travelled here by bicycle from Winnipeg. Twice this summer , in the first and last weeks of June.
The first time was very warm so the ample mature trees on the property were a welcome source of shelter from the sun. Newly renovated washrooms took everyone by positive surprise at the quality and cleanliness.
An extensive but not overwhelming menu has exciting options for every person in your group. I sampled the deep fried pickles, chicken fingers, and their fries with the house seasoning. Everything was delicious. And it made me look forward to the second time I was returning.
Staff is very friendly and accommodating. I felt welcomed to be a customer.

They have no Vanilla or caramel hard ice cream! I hate chocolate ice cream and it's variations. I think it is a disgrace to not offer hard vanilla ice cream and call yourself a drive inn. They have 12 flavors at least Mango sherbet, maple walnut and black cherry were the closest options.
When I asked about vanilla I was rudely told they don't sell that flavor there. No remorse or apologies just flat NO and move on. I guess you may not have it but at least awknowledge that this may be an inconvenience to your customer! I was shocked as I have had vanilla here in the years before. I understand keeping less on hand if you don't sell it but zero!
Bad attitude was the biggest frustration. I have loved this place in the past. I have stopped with my family here multiple times each year, but this experience turned me off. I will take my business elsewhere going forward.
