The food was extraordinarily delicious! If you enjoy fish and chips especially, fresh fish is brought in off the lake! The restaurant was very clean, and had a nice atmosphere.

Waited 30+ minutes had to go back and ring doorbell again to get their attention. Poutine wasn't a poutine. Shredded cheese is a lazy mess. Food was overpriced for what it is

went here for the special of the day. at 5pm they opened at 3 or 4 pm. They had no specials left and this was on a Tuesday. Horrible Service and you have to pay ahead of your meal in a sit down family run restaurant.

I have been visiting Winnipeg Beach for over 30 years(my parents had a cabin there for 20) and have supported all the business from food stores restaurants and playland. On may long weekend we went to this place for fish and chips. (Because most shops were closed) I ordered 4pc fish and chips when I got my order about 20 minutes later there was only 2 pieces of fish I approached the owner he said he would take care of it. While I was in line waiting for my order I heard the lady owner say that she made a mistake on a nother couple's order and said that she was hard of hearing. When i went back to pick up my 2 pieces she wanted to charge me for them again. I said sorry but I believe I payed for what I ordered. I said i shouldn't have to pay again for your mistake. She said do you want the fish or not I said not if I have to pay for them again. Then she started yelling don't ever come back here again. I later phoned and spoke with the male owner he gave me a sad story about how covid 19 was hurting his business and he didn't care about my problem. I found them very rude and not willing to correct the problem. I still will continue to support the services at the Beach but not this one. To top it off the fish wasn't that good too much batter and very oily and the fries were store bought. So to the owners i say mabey its not covid 19 thats keeping your customers away its your attitude. I highly recommend other services at the Beach.

Not terribly friendly service and when the food finally came the fries were soggy and undercooked and the fish didn’t even taste fresh, more like frozen, from last season.

We stopped in for fish & chips to end our day at the beach. While deliberating our order I spied somebody's else order being picked up. The fish did not look very appetizing, so we opted to just have fries and play it safe. We waited about 15 minutes for fries. Which was fine. But when we got them we were disappointed. They were pale, had zero flavour, and were completely unremarkable in every way. The only good thing was that they were hot. And well, the portion size was good, but most of ours went uneaten. Under normal circumstances I would never even consider writing a review of a place where I only ordered fries, but .... these are not normal times. Our 15 minute wait (plus 10 minutes of dining time) afforded me the opportunity to observe the lack of precautions being taken with regard to sterilization. The tables (patio only) were not cleaned between customers at all. I saw one table change over 3 times and it was not wiped even once. Our table was visibly 'used'. Moreover, the women who was handling cash was also dispensing ketchup, pop cans and napkins (items that come in direct contact with your face). I'll admit I don't recall if she was wearing gloves, but even if that were the case, to go from handling cash to condiments etc. seems wrong. In short, not worth the risk, in my opinion. Down the road we had an ice cream -- one person took our cash -- and food was dispensed by another person entirely. That seems like a much safer protocol.

This is a friendly, family-run café, which opens year-round for lunch but not in the evening. The home-made food is decent. The location is right on the lakefront.

Service is very good. Attentive, helpful with suggestions and knowledgeable. Some great fish and chip options, and the fries were very nice, and not too salty, giving the option to add as necessary. A nice boardwalk seating area, and fun 50s music inside. I'd prefer options for fish other than just deep fried, but it is classic fish and chips, and isn't greasy or heavy at all. Dessert menu looks very tempting, but I didn't try it.

Not sure what has happened here , but the service was very unfriendly , the menu had only a choice of 3 burgers and fries or battered pickerel and fries ! I think putting pickerel in batter is not smart ! The fish was greasy and really mediocre! The restaurant was empty, which is never a good sign at dinner time ! Sadly, we will not return.

We visited yesterday and had the pickerel and French fries. The fish was very good - batter was crispy and both fish and french fries were piping hot. One piece fish & chip is $11.95. Good size helping. Restaurant is clean, air conditioned and welcoming. We would definitely go back.

Every time we have gone to Winnipeg Beach we have gone to The Boardwalk Restaurant, their fish and chips have always been good. I really don't know what has happened......I think they only do fish and chips and this time the fish batter was over cooked and leathery and inside the fish was barely cooked. It was also a very small piece of fish, looked like it was pre-formed frozen already battered. We wont be going back , although it was only $7.95 each all our meals were the same and only the size of a small child's meal.
