I haven't had their full menu, pretty delicious options. Pricey but not expensive. I can understand though, they are located in a popular spot

I had a disappointing experience with the older lady behind the bar. She was extremely rude and did not know how to treat customers respectfully. Management should address her attitude toward customers to ensure a better experience for everyone. A customer like me who come to this place 2 to 3 times a days for a coffee

However, I appreciate the owner for handling the situation professionally. I brought the issue to their attention, and they were very polite, apologized sincerely, and handled the matter nicely.I had a disappointing experience with the older lady behind the bar. My favorite place in Annapolis for breakfast. They have amazingly good coffee, unique breakfast selections, and friendly service. The space is warm and comfortable with an emphasis on local art.

Disappointingly awful. The poor server had 10- 12 tables alone while we were there. I had the oatmeal and am not sure it was cooked at all. The oatmeal was dry and the banana was old. The breakfast burrito was decent when it finally arrived about 20 minutes after the rest of the food. The place itself was adorable but everything else was disappointing.

A nice place. The food was good, and also the service. Art on the walls and lots of board games you can use.

Ordered the turkey wrap and the Mac and cheese: loved the wrap, it was good.
The Mac n cheese? Disgusting. It tasted old and mushy, no flavor, and the cheese is all chunky. For $14? Be so for real!!! Nasty, nasty, nasty.
This was my first time ordering, and it will be my last.

Had a wonderful Monday evening here. There happened to be live music, which was exquisite. I had a poke bowl which was delicious, clearly made with fresh ingredients and it was a very generous portion as I could barely finish it and certainly overstuffed myself in doing so. The wine was just as fantastic. Staff was extremely friendly and attentive. I hadn't been here in years, and Im beyond happy Id come back while I happened to be in the area. Definitely recommend this spot.

49 West has been a personal favourite of mine for years, with my wife and I visiting 2-3 times a month for the 8 years. I have always enjoyed the coffee, atmosphere, and service. It is unfortunate that my most recent experience today has not been up to the standards I have come to expect. We came in and noticed the table was dirty. Not a huge issue and one we ignored. The waitress, Mia, came to us and we ordered our coffees. Great so far. When we received our coffees, we noticed there were dark spots on the rims, the saucer drenched in coffee, and small particles floating, likely coffee grounds. We shortly requested new cups which we did receive. My wife’s second cup was fine, but mine has visible food dried to it, and the saucer had possibly cocoa powder and what looked like dog hair on it. We talked with the waitress again and she tried defending the cup’s cleanliness until we directly pointed out the dried food. She took the cup back and came back with a paper cup without a sleeve. While I understand and the choice because the cups were dirty, I would have preferred a regular, clean coffee cup. After a bit of me awkwardly holding my cup, my wife had to get up and ask the bartender, Courtney, for a cup sleeve. My wife and I then enjoyed our coffee, but we felt ignored. Mia had not come back to our table to ask about a food order and we were not checked on for almost 30 minutes. There were only 3 other tables with customers at the time. My wife and I were both wanting a refill on coffee and to show Mia how many grounds were in the bottom of our cups. After a while of other tables being taken care of, Mia finally came over with the coffee refills but we were already too unhappy with the service that we wanted to speak with a manager about our experience. We love this place and genuinely wanted to provide feedback to better future experiences. Courtney came over and said she would give us the owners contact information. This was not something we wanted as we just wanted to explain our experience to whoever was in charge so it can be quickly corrected. When my wife asked if Courtney was the manager, she said no and added she was the bartender. My wife then tried explaining that we simply wanted to talk with someone if a higher status and asked if that was her. Courtney tried walking away without hearing what was going on, and seemed to have taken this personally as she had a cold demeanor and gave poor attitude as my wife was trying to understand whether Courtney was the appropriate person to talk to, not to imply that Courtney was of lower status. Courtney continues to say she would get us the owners contact information and left. We did not appreciate the coldness that Courtney showed in our conversation. Mia came back with the bill and we explained our experience to her. Mia was professional and listened to us as we expressed how disappointed we were with the cleanliness and lack of service during our visit. She apologised for not providing us with the experience we were expecting, which we greatly appreciate. Mia was excellent for listening to our complaints and for acknowledging that the service we received did not meet our expectations. Courtney then came back with the owners email information and Mia took our credit card to process payment. She came back shortly saying that Courtney said not to charge us. While we appreciate this, we would have preferred discussing our experience with Courtney as she seemed to have been the person in charge, especially if she has the authority to waive payments. Overall, each negative aspect of our experience we would have shrugged off without concern. We have been coming here for more than eight years for great coffee and a wonderful atmosphere. However, due to the several issues we encountered in a single visit, we wanted to express our dissatisfaction. We really do love 49 West and want to continue supporting this establishment. Please do better cleaning tableware, being attentive to customers, and check the filter/coffee machine for excessive coffee grounds.

Cozy atmosphere, great live music scene (although with $10 cover), great service, and good drinks. I thought the food was quite bad tho. Both the bulgogi and the salmon were highly HIGHLY salted. The server did her best to fix the situation which was much appreciated.

I have great memories of this place a few years ago. Great food & drinks, and occasionally live music.

What a cute local place that has been around for at least 30 years! Very friendly, unique and old school décor, and lots of options to stay or to go. Also love the local art showcased on the walls!
