Chick and Ruth's is a memorable experience from another time. It's an old timey diner, with loads of personality. (read: not the white table cloth crowd). In another era, there may have been businessmen in pork pie hats dragging on a butt while reading the newspaper at the counter and sipping on their coffee. The decor screams it! I’ve been coming to Maryland for the past ten years. Chick and Ruth’s Deli Crab Cakes is one of the best I’ve ever had. Part of it is the seasoning on the crab cake. If you order a crab cake dinner here, one cake is more than plenty.
We visited this restaurant for brunch and were promptly seated. The restaurant has two dining areas: one in the front, which houses the kitchen and bar, and another on the upper level. We were seated on the lower level, which was quite crowded and noisy. The place shows its age, but it's interesting to see the displayed memorabilia and learn about its history.
