This is my second time here. If I lived closer I'd be here everyday. the food is always good, the service always good, I've seen the owner both times I've been here and that's just an commitment I adore. I also LOVE LOVE LOVE their love for love and basic human rights đŸ„°đŸ„°đŸ„°. today I had the turkey avocado, added red onion (cause I love onions) and it was freaking delicious.

Great breakfast spot, casual, by the water beside a marina. Enjoyed live music outside among the locals.

Stopped in for a bite to eat while driving through Annapolis. The food was great, and the staff was friendly. Ate by the docks. Overall, it was a great experience. I highly recommend it.

This place is like a hidden gem. Food was amazing. I don’t usually finish all my food but I ate everything. I ordered the buttermilk pancakes, turkey bacon and home fries. It was made to order and was fresh. The blueberry basil lemonade was delicious. Everyone was so friendly. It a nice quaint place to have breakfast near the water if you’re in the neighborhood.

My husband and I went here for the first time this morning to get breakfast. It was not at all what either of us expected. However, it was not bad.

It is a counter style restaurant. That means, you get a menu, choose what you want, and then order and pay for it at the register. They gave us the number and we want to sit down and wait for our food.

We sat at a counter that faces outside. However, I get the impression most people sit outside because they have ample seating outside. I don’t think it’s necessarily the place where people would sit inside.

My husband ordered the sausage gravy and biscuit, and I ordered the chocolate chip pancakes.
We also got coffee, which is self serve.

The food came in reasonable amount of time. My husband said his meal was good and enjoyed the bacon that also arrived with his meal. Its sweetness balanced the spice in the gravy.

My pancakes tasted fine, however, were a tad rubbery, and a bit difficult to cut. It was a large portion, however!

The staff was friendly. This seems like a popular spot with the locals.

If you are looking for a very casual, affordable spot, check them out!

B&B is a regular stop for us every time we visit Annapolis. Food is great as is the atmosphere (on the water & live music) & service staff is good too. Unfortunately, they must have skipped our order because 3-4 people got their food before us & we waited 30-40 minutes which was very disappointing. Will still come back & hope we don’t experience the delay again.

I ordered a BLT she gave me something completely different. I also ordered a vegan justegg for my girlfriend and asked multiple times if they could do it and they proceeded to give me an actual egg. Once I brought this up to the owner multiple times she told me I was being aggressive and scaring people which is crazy because I am a black queer woman who grew up in Annapolis and actually lives in the community that she’s so claims to protect and serve. She must be talking about the other Annapolis cause the Annapolis that I and 4 generations of my family is from doesn’t know who she is, only my father who showed me this place thinking the “abolish ice” (haha) shirts were real. When she came over to tell me to leave or she would call the cops, I was literally sitting at a table waiting for food, discussing what was happening privately and at no point was I being aggressive to her. It was so textbook, racist, white woman, that honestly it was shocking to me since she kept saying her community awards and Puerto Rican husband (hahahah) made her not racist. But when she reads this review, she’s going to try to respond and say it was one-sided but she’s truly a racist unprofessional and honestly just disrespectful owner who shouldn’t own what she claims to be a restaurant in Annapolis. Even after all that the food wasn’t even good. Diners beware if you want respect or accommodations for your food especially if you are a poc do not come here.

The experience my friends and I had at Bread and Butter Kitchen today began as merely frustrating and quickly devolved into what could only be described as racist. My friend is vegan and this restaurant describes itself as vegan-friendly, so my friend asked a staff member if she could substitute a vegan egg for a real egg in an omelet. The staff member said it couldn’t be made into an omelet, but could be made into a scramble. My friend agreed and said that sounded great. She also requested for her toast to be served dry with no butter - again, because she’s vegan. My other friend ordered a BLT. When our food arrived, we noticed there was butter on the bread so she brought it in to show the staff. The staff said it was olive oil (it clearly wasn’t - it was white with foam on it) but after some convincing, they served us bread with vegan butter on the side. Then, my friend looked down at what was supposed to be her vegan egg scramble and saw she had been served a real egg omelet. We took a bite of the omelet which confirmed that it was made from real egg. Once again, she brought the food back in to be replaced. When she went back into the restaurant, the owner Monica was already acting inconvenienced and upset by our request. Finally, while we were waiting for the vegan egg dish, my friend took a bite of her “BLT” and found it was actually a completely different sandwich that had cheese, eggs, and avocado. At this point, rightfully, we were frustrated. Once again, my friend had to go back inside to let Monica know that her food was incorrect. Even though it was a frustrating experience, we get it - mistakes happen. But the way we the customers were treated for the restaurant’s mistakes was something I’ve never experienced in my life at any restaurant.

Monica started making comments to my friend about how she “needed to stop making such a big deal of it,” that it was “just food” and that she was “scaring people” by being so “aggressive” at her “family restaurant.” This is when the incident began to turn racial. My friend is a Black lesbian, and it goes without saying that Monica would not have been using that language with someone who was not Black. My friend came back outside and sat down at our table to wait for our food. While we were waiting, we were discussing what had happened and were (once again, rightfully) growing increasingly upset at how we were being treated. Monica accused us of lying about ordering a vegan omelet and said the other customers in the restaurant didn’t hear us ordering a vegan meal and said we ordered a “veggie omelet,” which of course, didn’t happen. Since when do restaurant owners survey their other customers about conversations that happened between the staff and a customer? When Monica heard us discussing how upset we were, she took away all of our food, packed it up in a to-go bag, and told my friend to leave, otherwise she was going to call the cops.

Once again, it goes without saying that threatening to call the cops on a Black lesbian for growing increasingly frustrated at being told that her request to get the food she ordered “wasn’t that big of a deal” is racist. Plain and simple racism, there’s no getting around it. When we pointed this out to Monica and said she was being racist, she repeatedly kept saying that she couldn’t possibly be racist because she’s won community awards and because her husband is Puerto Rican, as if someone in a mixed-race relationship is absolved from any racism. Monica began to escalate the conversation by pointing her fingers at us, raising her voice, slamming down a silverware holder, and clapping in our faces.
