Delicious food and beautiful waterview

Parking could be a little bit hard to find if you are not easy, but once you do, be prepared for an amazing crab experience. Staff were friendly and I liked that there was a waterfront where you could actually see the crab harvesting process. Families friendly and there are options for inside or outside seating.

It's my favorite blue crab restaurant.
Allways even if I arrived before 12 o'clock,
there were always a many of people,

so this time I arrived on time,
and I was happy to be able to eat crabs quietly,
but while we were eating crabs,
a lot of people arrived on a big yacht from a company,
so it became noisy quickly haha 😂

There was no jumbo size when I went last year and this year, but I was satisfied with the fat and firm crab I ate this time. And it's good to be able to walk by the water for a while. I always eat crabs and go to the pretty neighborhood of Annapolis. I like this schedule every blue crab season.

The atmosphere is the draw for this cute little secluded spot. We ate outside, and the view was beautiful. You can boat right up to the restaurant, which was cool to see. There was a bar inside and outside which made wait time forndeinks non-existent and helped the wait time for a table. Although the beautiful view was also helpful. We didn't experience a lot of flies, which is rare at a crab spot, especially outdoors. The food was good, although I'm partial to a broiled lump crab cake (maryland style), and they served a deep fried crab cake. The shrimp were large, and the drinks were strong. The service was top-notch. You have to get a crab hat. It's hilarious. The crabs were pricey but massive. The diners next to us ran into a few mushy ones. Other than that, the experience was good. I'd go again just for the atmosphere.

My family and I have been coming to Cantler’s for years. We stop here every time we drive through MD and we always order their blue crabs. This last visit was very disappointing. Our waitress told us they only had large and extra large. We’ve ordered their extra large before and we were expecting the same size crabs. To our surprise, the crabs we got were mostly mediums, at most. The body span of the crabs were about 3 inches. When we asked our waitress, she said they were def extra large when you take into account their claws. We are not newbies to eating blue crabs. As a matter of fact, we are quite pros at it. I felt we were being duped, at least they tried to. On top of that, out of the dozen and a half of the crabs we ordered, 5 were bad—crab meat was foul-odored, discolored, mushy/slimy texture. When we asked our waitress for our first crab replacement, she was ok . After that, she said she needed manager approval even though we gave her back the bad crabs. For $155/dozen, I expect and demand fresh crabs. I don’t think we will be coming back to Cantler’s anymore. We will look for a new restaurant in the area instead.

The large crabs were huge. Very meaty and delicious. Bring off if you plan to eat on the deck. Very chill and relaxed setting.

THE WORST STEAMED CRABS I HAVE EVER HAD!
I went to Cantlers to have some steamed crabs at the bar. It was on Monday 11/11/24 at 4:30 PM. Cantlers says they always steam the crabs to order. I only ordered 3 extra large crabs. For 3 it was $39. This is the time of year that crabs are the heaviest. They are fattening up for the winter “hibernation” when they are buried into soft bay bottom. I know steamed blue crabs.
The crabs came out in 15 minutes. Freshly steamed crabs are so hot you have to let them cool down for 5 or 10 minutes before you can clean and eat them. All 3 were lukewarm to the touch on the outside and cold on the inside. They had been steamed the night before and re-heated the next day when I ordered them. This is not acceptable. They steamed them the night before rather than possibly dying before being steamed the next day. I only ate half of them. I was not happy at all.
Two of the crabs were medium large and very light. One crab was extra large as ordered. I told the bartender what I thought and she disagreed with me and offered to replace the crabs. I was pussed and paid my bill and left
Terrible experience. Don’t waste your time by patronizing them. By the way, Cream of Crab Soup is $19 for a bowl. Are they insane!

Crab cake is amazing you have to try it!!! Also the crabs are fresh and amazing.

Best clam chowder. Hot, rich and flavorful. Service was great. Wish I lived here because I would definitely be a regular.

Went there with my family on a late Sunday afternoon. Since the weather was a nice day, we requested outdoor seating near the water. We were told there would be 20 minutes wait for an outside table. We were okay with that. We actually had to wait 30 minutes. When they called us to go through the restaurant and out to the outside seating, the table that was selected for us had been given to another family. Then they wanted to seat us in the tables on the parking lot. We said no, so they then seated us at a table, not in view of the water, but on the side facing the parking lot. I would have left by then. However, the rest of our family decided that we would stay. I don't think I'll be back!
