What a fantastic gem in Annapolis! A warm welcome when you enter and plenty of Irish whiskey to keep the warmth going. The bartenders have great convos and suggestions if you're not sure what you want. If you happen to catch Vincent there he has stories that could fill a book. If you're a couple looking for a nice drink with awesome folks then enter here immediately ‼️. Well done Castlebay?

The bartender with the long gray beard was rude, rude and rude! We ordered a first round and one Sammy to share. He NEVER checked in/back. He never asked if we wanted another drink or if we needed anything. He was the worst and we showed him what we thought by leaving a poor tip! We love to tip having been servers in our past lives --but not here. And the food was just very meh!

Sad to say, I won't ever be back. It's a pity, because I loved stopping into this bar after my shifts . . . there are awesome people hanging out there and I enjoyed the outdoor tables. But I showed up tonight and evidently 'said' something that made the manager on duty cut me off . . . while various other regulars were served in spite of being utterly legless and intoxicated. I don't know why this happened - I was just sitting outside, chatting and enjoying my drink with others. Evidently, this manager overheard something that made them refuse to serve me any longer - can't think of what it might have been, unless it was me admitting that I hadn't read Goethe's 'Metamorphosis of Plants' or because I tearfully mentioned that this was a hard day for me because my father died this morning.Regardless, I won't ever be back. It's one thing to cut some one off because they are trashed, it's entirely another to cut someone off because you heard their father died, which was the only exceptional comment I made the entire night. I sat in my chair, doing a crossword puzzle and chatting with a few other regulars.I wasn't trashed, am still articulate, and am still NOT drunk and I'm seriously pissed. Won't be sending any more business your way, that's for sure.
My boyfriend (23) and I (24) were visiting from PA. We came in and were ID’d. My ID is a few years newer than his, as mine recently expired and I got a new ID a few days ago. The bartender stared at our ID’s for a while. And then, instead of asking us any questions or trying to talk to us, he proceeded to start passing our ID’s around to his regulars at the bar. They start questioning the authenticity of our ID’s while we are standing there. We went to many bars in the area and were not questioned a single time about having fake ID’s. Pennsylvania changes the look of their ID’s every few years, and if you’re going to start questioning people, you should maybe use your common sense to keep up with your knowledge of that. Terrible experience.
