I just picked up food for the first time. The chimichanga and the burrito was the worst Mexican food we have had in years. Strange taste with the salsa and the entrees were lackluster, tasteless and just seemed thrown together and plopped in a take out container. Really nothing in the burrito and it said it would have cheese and sauce on it but there was a little color so i guess that was the sauce. With over $15.00 per entree, don't waste your money!! Not sure how this place is still open.

My wife and I were back in Annapolis for another overnight stay after moving nearly four years ago. After looking at its reviews, we decided to try El Toro Bravo II since it was close to our hotel and we were familiar with its sister restaurant on inner West Street. It’s in the building that used to be the French restaurant Les Folies. The atmosphere was typically Mexican with the decor and background music, and the service was exceptional. We were greeted immediately by the maitre d’, Jose Beltran, who personally escorted us to a good table and took our drink orders. Since I was driving, I ordered a Stella Artois Liberte, which was delivered promptly by our waiter Mauro, who poured it into a chilled glass, something I usually have to ask for.. When he noticed my wife adding ice from her water to her wine, he appeared with a glass full of ice. I ordered a special beef quesadilla dish recommended by Jose after listening to my preferences, and it was excellent. My wife had a taco salad, which was also very good. To finish, we shared a fried ice cream dessert, with cups of dark Colombian decaffeinated coffee, far richer than you get in most restaurants. We will be back on future visits.

Disappointing Experience with Misinformation and Missing Sides My husband and I recently visited El Toro Bravo for the first time anticipating an enjoyable meal, but was met with a rather disheartening experience instead. I ordered the Grande California burrito, which--for the price of $19--I expected to be served as described on the menu: with rice and beans on the side. Unfortunately, when my order arrived, there was no sign of the rice and beans. Also, I ordered guacamole on the side. After reading the menu when I got home guacamole was supposed to be in the inside of the burrito. That was missing too. Upon inquiring, the server insisted that the rice and beans were inside the burrito, contrary to what I recalled from the menu description. Trusting the server's word at the moment, I decided to overlook it. However, the burrito itself was notably lacking in the promised rice and beans filling, leaving me doubtful and dissatisfied. In fact, my husband who is an executive chef said my burrito needs the rice to soak up the moisture in the burrito. Upon returning home, I verified the menu only to find that my memory had served me right; the Grande California should indeed have been accompanied by rice and beans on the side. This discrepancy between the menu's description and what I was served is unacceptable, particularly at such a steep price point. A simple plate of rice and beans is a staple of Mexican cuisine and should not be a point of contention. It's these fundamental elements that contribute to the authenticity and enjoyment of the dining experience. To overlook or misinform customers about such details not only diminishes the value of the dish but also reflects poorly on the establishment's commitment to customer satisfaction. Regrettably, the oversight, coupled with the misinformation provided by the staff, made my visit to El Toro Bravo a disappointing one. I had hoped for better, especially from a restaurant that seems to have the potential to offer a pleasant dining experience. I believe management should pay closer attention to ensuring the menu is honored as described to avoid similar situations with future patrons.

The worst food poisoning I've ever had. Wouldn't force it upon my worst enemy. May god be with you if you order the el favorita.
