Great beer, good food, and always a good time! Forward never disappoints and is a great local spot!
Had a group of 9 for lunch today. This place is an absolute gem. Everything was wonderful, from the pretzel and potato wedges all the way through the crab cake sandwiches and beer. I had the tinga tacos, incredible flavor and very filling. A good choice of vegan options as well. My daughter had the Tempeh Bahn Mi which she said was delicious. Finally, the staff was brilliant, very accommodating, efficient, and friendly.. I was surprised at how quickly all of the meals were ready. Thank you for a memorable experience.
Dropped in for lunch today when on our way to work on the boat. It was my first visit. What a treat! The Maryland Avenue IPA is fruity, light, hoppy, and yummy. The Crab Cake Sandwich was pure perfection and deliciousness. We will definitely stop again.
Amazing Staff, Amazing Beer, Amazing Atmosphere
Good eats. Pub grub. Nice selection of draft beers. Trivia on Thursdays.
Forward is awesome! I read a few reviews that negatively penalized Forward for parents’ leaving their children unsupervised. Instead, give those parents a bad review; not Forward. Credit to forward for creating a special environment that encourages young families to gather. Five stars, no caveats.
Had the crab roll and it was ❤️🔥 so good! Just like a Maine style Lobster Roll, but with Fresh crab meat from the bay! I am one happy lady!
This place has huge 5 star potential, but I just could not get past the sheer volume (literally and figuratively) of small children running about in the outdoor area. I saw a review from 4 months ago asking if this is a brewery or a daycare center and I am sitting here wondering the same thing.
Whatever rule they have about children being supervised is not enforced and it’s pretty disruptive to childless guests or anyone looking to experience a legitimate brewery environment. They claim to have an “adults only” area, but I don’t think that is enforced either. Not sure how it can be enforced with limited seating. If clientele is 85% parents with children and 15% average beer enthusiast, can you really dedicate a whole area to the 15%? And would it really even make that much of a difference? I honestly don’t have a solution.
Aside from this, I would say it’s a great establishment with a nice layout and a wonderful, attentive staff. Also love their website and branding (I am a marketing nerd).
Forward Brewing is an exceptional venue for any special event! Our recent gathering here was a huge success from start to finish.
Naomi, the General Manager, was an absolute pleasure to work with. Her leadership, attentiveness, and organizational skills made the planning process seamless. As GM, she demonstrated a deep understanding of how to make our event shine, always quick to respond to our questions and accommodate our requests with enthusiasm.
The venue itself is fantastic - the space is comfortable and inviting, allowing guests to mingle and relax in a great atmosphere.
The food and drinks were the true stars of the show. Forward Brewing offers an impressive beer selection that caters to a variety of tastes. Their food menu is creative and delicious, with options to please everyone from adventurous foodies to those with simpler palates. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented.
On the day of our event, Naomi and her staff were friendly, efficient, and professional. They ensured everything ran smoothly, allowing us to focus on enjoying time with our guests.
Forward Brewing provided the ideal backdrop for our special occasion. Their attention to detail, excellent service, and fantastic food and drink offerings made our event truly memorable.
If you're looking for a unique, relaxed venue with great food and drinks for any event, we highly recommend Forward Brewing. A big thank you to Naomi and the entire team for helping make our celebration such a wonderful experience!
Forward Brewing is an excellent hidden gem in the middle of Eastport, Annapolis. I typically love a good sour beer and have yet to be disappointed. If you are new to town or an Annapolis local, Forward has a run club every Wednesday at 6pm - it’s amazing! Many people stay after for beer and delicious food.

Friendly staff, a variety of beers to choose from.
Lovely place to spend time with friends and family.
Great braut. Nachos are awesome. Beer & cider spot in b!!!!
This place is really good and we enjoyed our first visit. Only complaint was that we ordered quite a bit and wanted to take leftovers home. We forgot to grab the box and immediately returned but the staff had thrown them in the trash. Understandable I guess but no one apologized at all, just shrugged. A sour note to end on...
The May Day sour is incredible. We also got the crab cake sandwich and chicken quesabirria which were both priced very well. Indoor outdoor feel and fast friendly service here. Great music too. I think the crab roll needs something to go with it like hot melted butter but that's just me being picky. Burria sauce was different than usual too, tomatoey. Always swing by here when I come to Anapolis
One of my favorite little haunts in Annapolis. Usually, they try to keep a variety of styles of beer on tap (sour, IPA, stout, lager/kölsch). It's a great outdoor venue, so probably more enjoyable in the late spring/early summer and definitely the fall.
Beers are a bit pricey considering they should below a typical bar's price, but I do understand they are a microbrewery in an expensive area which might contribute to higher costs.
The food is a pleasant surprise - I usually go for the chicken tinga tacos or the soft pretzel. They pair excellently with the beers on top.
Staff is friendly and knows a lot of the locals.
Definitely check it out - it's the only brewery in Annapolis that is making their beer on site anymore.
