I have been a patron here for a very long time: the new owners have done an excellent job, keeping the heart of the original vision, while still making it their own. I will keep coming back. Bring a sweater (if you are sensitive to air-conditioning) but also, Management is incredibly kind and receptive and if you want the air turned down all you have to do is ask :)
We were surprised and disappointed by Level. We did not expect a meal out to seem like work. Neither the hostess or the waiter were welcoming. We did not get through even half of our pre-dinner cocktail before most of food arrived. The waiter suggested 2-3 small plates per person so we ordered 4 in total for the two of us. The waiter mentioned that the dishes would come out as they were ready. We didn't expect to have three of the four dishes brought out at roughly the same time, followed quickly by the fourth dish. The table was so small that the dishes could barely fit on the table. The cheeseboard ended up partially off the table at my left elbow. No serving utensils were provided with any of the dishes. We found it really unappealing to have to use our own utensils when serving from shared plates - quite unhealthy to share in this manner. The two glasses of wine ordered with dinner didn't come to the table until after we had finished our meals. The food was average at best. Hopefully, our experience was an aberration and not the norm for this restaurant.
We went on an evening with lots of thunderstorms so dining attendance was low. I loved all options and my partner was very happy with the gluten free items on the menu. Great wine
Excellent! Flavorful small plates, just the right size for sharing, timed well to arrive at the table after finishing one it seemed the next was just arriving. Unique, clever crafted cocktails including the Liberty Torch which had a flaming lemon hull/raft with a carmelized sugar cube on fire floating in it and The Alchemist's Pour with a smoke filled bubble made on top at the table. Fortunately we got seated on the restaurant side which was moderately noisy as we walked through the bar area which was distractingly loud. Service was very pleasant and attentive. Overall a great meal/evening!
Excellent menu; just about everything we tried was delicious (don't miss the avocado tacos!). Nice cocktail menu including a decent selection of mocktails. Great location away from the crowds of downtown but still very walkable from our hotel. As the restaurant got busier our service noticeably declined, but I would absolutely go again to see if that was a fluke.
The food was amazing! Our favorite was the sea scallops with corn, followed closely by the lamb chops! The server was very attentive and the pacing of the plates was excellent.
We decided to have our 36th anniversary dinner at Level. It was one of the best meals I've had in Annapolis. Started off with cocktails and I tried both the Double Demon and their award-winning gimlet. The small plate portions were just right for sharing. Riley took care of us at the bar. I'm not sure why we put this visit off but now we'll be returning again and again.
Had a lovely dinner here before a concert at Ramshead. Excellent cocktails, nice wine and outstanding food. The service was fast, friendly and very attentive. Excellent experience all the way around.
Level has been an enjoyable dining spot for over a decade. Last night we had six different servers, wrong dishes delivered (which happens) but what was most noticeable was the quality of the food had diminished greatly.
We stayed the night in Annapolis and were looking for a nice restaurant without the typical Annapolis tourist vibe (crab cakes, chowder, and overcrowded dining areas). Level was perfect! The small plate format allowed us to try different dishes. Food was delicious, our servicer was attentive and helpful. She provided honest guidance on how many dishes were appropriate for just two people ("you can always order another dish or two"). The restaurant was moderately busy but not to the point that we had to raise our voices to have a conversation. Very nice evening in Annapolis. We will definitely dine with them again.

The food was very tasty and reasonably priced for an upscale dining experience. For context, our pre-tip bill was ~$100 for a meal which included 5 plates of tapas and 3 non-alcoholic mixed drinks (our dessert was comped for my wife's birthday, an unexpected bonus). Our server went above and beyond to provide excellent service but still gave us our privacy. The table was nice with a window view and the restaurant was clean and well lit. My only real complaint was the music being played; it was very strange and a little loud. It would bounce from one genre to another song-to-song with no rhyme or reason. This detracted from the experience but not enough to ruin it. We will certainly be coming back in the future as tapas provide a nice way to try many things without committing to full entrees which helps keeps things interesting.
The services were great , however the food was terrible. The Tuna was not fresh and the rice it comes with it was old. My husband food were not cooked. We usually do not complain, so we did not eat the food and left. We were worried about getting sick from old and undercooked food. So we will not return.
Just really think it has gone downhill, I think the food use to be much better. Hopefully it was an off night but thought menu wasn't as interesting as in the past. Three of us had dinner and no one thought it was great . Kebabs were tough with little favor. The oysters did not taste fresh and the ribs were fatty. The cocktails were excellent.
The server was excellent! Very attractive restaurant. The food was very good and unique- not the same tired fare of many restaurants. Loved picking a variety of small plates and the value for the money was wonderful. The only thing lacking was dessert. The dessert choices did not match the food choices in quality, variety and originality. Also, loved that it was so easy to park.
We really enjoyed our small plates and our cocktails. Love a good cocktail and ours (a gimlet and a farmers market) were perfect - refreshing, not too sweet, well mixed. Also tried their easter brunch flight - LOVE! We had a combination charcuterie board, tenderloin, Brussel sprouts, ribs and potato salad. Very well made and delicious. Our waitress was great - personable and friendly but not intrusive, everything served with good timing and finished plates whisked away. We really enjoyed our drinks, food and the atmosphere. Wish they also had espresso drinks to finish but I have to say the french press coffee was awesome. We'll be back!
