The owner gave some BS reason as to why our 23.5 year old daughter couldn't drink with both of her parents and siblings. Utterly ridiculous The hostess had an attitude and so did the server.
This is not the Level we have enjoyed for so many years. We are locals and Level was always a favorite. But there has been a change in the kitchen and it shows, as dishes are bland and lacking that special quality that made Level so outstanding. In addition, our server, while efficient, lacked warmth and the hospitality we're used to, at one point insisting that I had ordered a dish I hadn't ordered! Amazing. We wanted to give it another try- sadly, we won't be back.
I love this place. Every dish is exquisitely prepared and delicious. You don't waste a lot of food on unneeded side dishes. You can order exactly what fulfills you. We had the Bosc and Blue salad, the scallops and the steak frites. All were fantastic. The flourless chocolate brownie was a wonderful ending. You rarely get homemade deserts in restaurants now, but this one was a gem.
The front dining area is a little dim. People have to use flashlights to read the menu. Food was amazing as always and so is the service
Delicious food and great drinks/service. The chorizo mussels were *particularly* good đ¨

This was a little while ago now but we held our wedding reception here on the upper floor and it was a brilliant venue. Really accommodating to everything. The food was great the service was great. It was just perfect for what we wanted which was a venue for around 60 guests that didn't feel like we had to compromise. Now my sister- in-law is getting married (this venue is too small for her) and it just got me thinking about what a wonderful time we had here!

Level used to have wonderful food and excellent service...but the least two times we've gone it's fallen short. Food was âmehâ and service was sloppy. One waiter spilled mussels ON one of friends and didn't even apologize. Another took a tone with another person on our group when she asked a follow up question. Worst of all, the restaurant took our reservation for 8:30 PM (a table of 8) and then told us at 8:45 that the kitchen was closing at 9:15. On New Years Eve! There wasn't even toilet paper in the bathroom. I'm really sad to see this place go so far downhill, and we won't be back.
We have been to Level a few times with great experiences so we decided to go for New Year's Eve. In addition to great food and drinks, the service was outstanding. Would recommend it to anyone in Annapolis.
Servers were very friendly and incredibly helpful when deciding what to choose. Plates were flavourful, some a little overpriced, but everything was very fresh and the quality of the ingredients was noticeable (farm to table).
Level is a great spot if you're in the mood for a little indulgence, or for a few things to try with a nice drink before or after a meal.

Exceptional cocktails
Restaurantji Recommends
We had an excellent meal of several small plates and impeccable service from Melissa at the bar. The bottle of wine was delicious and reasonably priced as well. Can't wait to come back next time we are in town.

We had a reservation on Friday at 7:15pm for a group of 4. We arrived at 7pm and were told that there was a wait of 15-20 minutes. When we explained we had a reservation, we were told by the hostess that the wait is on top of our reservation time because they were overbooked. There was a company party going on downstairs, so everyone arriving for dinner was being seated upstairs. We patiently waited in the lobby and three other groups of diners arrived and had been told the same thing - all of the groups left and didnât keep their reservation. We had checked in again, I believe with the manager, and she told us that she couldnât tell us when we would be next and pointed to the hostess and said it was her decision as she had a system. We thought that was odd but then just continued to wait. We checked in again with the hostess and she said as soon as a group left, we would get the next table. A large party of 6 came in around 7:40pm and the manager said weâve been waiting for you and immediately took them upstairs. We looked at the hostess and she immediately looked horrified and said she didnât know what was happening - when I said I thought we were next, she said âI thought you were tooâ, she ran upstairs to look into it. We finally were led upstairs at 7:45pm and arrived to a table in the middle of the section, surrounded by a ton of tables - packed like sardines. The volume of all of the guests was so loud that you could barely think. A waitress came over and gave us menus & waters and then left to serve other tables in the bar area. We sat there for 10 minutes and she never came back so we left. The food & drinks at Level are 100% amazing and definitely worth it but this experience left a bad taste in my mouth.
I personally feel like if you know you are having a large party that takes servers away from the restaurant, and that youâre overbooked, you should have made phone calls to the reservations and been upfront about the situation. We went to a restaurant down the street and were sat immediately. I later got an email that we missed our reservation which is ridiculous - we were there and stayed longer than we should have. We left because of the poor experience.

I had my wedding cocktail hour and reception here last month, and I would not wish the experience on any bride. If you like to dance and don't want your mother bussing tables herself all night, find another venue. So disappointed with the service and treatment from staff, but I'll keep this short: Our entire guest list of Annapolis locals will never be back here again.

To begin, they make an outstanding gimlet. Definitely a win. As far as the food, we did the burrata, which was outstanding as well. The poke tuna could've been great as well, but it was drenched in soy, so the tuna had no ability to shine. The roasted brussel sprouts were a very good choice. However the Captain Morgan shrimp was accompanied by excellent pickled vegetables, but the shrimp itself needed a hard sear to get beyond just ok. Finally, the mussels were plump, but I was hoping for a bit more spice since the menu said chorizo was in the dish. It was good, but just needed a bit more kick. As far as the service, she was attentive and very good at clearing dishes to make room on our small 2 top.
