Charming spot with great, creative, Caribbean-inspired food. Helpful, warn and attentive staff. Elegant but casual atmosphere. Highly recommend. No tipping. (Unusual perk in the current environment of gratuity extortion.)

We were very excited to try the new place for my wife's birthday. We have been everywhere in Annapolis.

Honestly they should close for a month and conduct staff training. (Go to Osteria and take notes)

They dropped 3 cocktails at our table then came back and took one back.

They offered no explanation or description of any appetizer or entrees or specials when we asked. Just an awkward pause for us to order.

They brought my entree and the appetizers together. Then put in my wife's entree after that because they forgot it with the original order.

I had the lamb and radishes but they forgot the radishes, it was just the lamb.

My wife had the crab and dumplings but they left several parts of the shell in the entree.

For dessert we were told they had complementary Rum Cakes for birthdays but they were out followed by an awkward silence.

We ordered the bread and butter pudding and asked if they could dress it up to celebrate. They brought out plates a minute later. 20 minutes later they said it was coming. 10 minutes later they said the chef needed to make it from scratch. 20 minutes later it arrived.

Instead of enjoying the birthday we spent it talking about how quirky the service was.

Annapolis needs more great restaurants. Please make some dramatic changes.

Had one of the best meals in annapolis in a long time. Superb cocktails and I don’t usually care for rum so that’s saying something. Excellent service, great interior - you could almost hear the steel drums. Will definitely be back - regularly I would imagine.

The food at Rumhouse is incredible. Every dish is bursting with flavor, and the cocktails are top-tier — easily some of the best in Annapolis.

The vibe is immaculate — stylish, lively, and welcoming all at once. Whether you’re here for dinner, drinks, or a night out with friends, the energy is always just right.

First time dining at the Rumhouse. Think that was the best lamb I've ever had, so delicious and the spicy sauce was perfect. My husband I split the ceviche and the lamb chops which was plenty of food for us. Not cheap (app, main, 2 drinks, 1 glass wine) but definitely worth every penny, beautiful restaurant, staff was wonderful and this is a no tip place so they pay their staff a decent salary. Nice job.

I can only give this place a 3 star and that’s because of the atmosphere and staff. The food needs a lot of help, for only having 5-6 mains it shouldn’t be poor quality especially for the price point. The rice & peas was very poorly cooked, the pimento over powered the rice and it was undercooked. $45 for escovitch fish and no side, and it lacked flavor, not even salt and pepper, the chow was even more terrible, it lacked taste, needed more vinegar and pepper. And all the starters came out cold. The gumbo was ok, the ravioli was ok but both can be improved. After spending over $350 dollars we went home disappointed.

A must visit! This unique restaurant in Annapolis is just what is needed to introduce exciting flavors to this historic city. Enjoy delicious food, excellent service and a homey vibe that transport you to the tropics. Make sure you make a reservation.

I went for brunch, which was worth it, and will definitely return for dinner. Alanna, our server, was very helpful and offered recommendations. We tried their mimosas, chicken and waffles, and burger. Can’t wait to return!

Everything about this place was amazing. The food was fresh, flavorful, and came out quickly. The service was friendly and attentive from start to finish, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. You can tell they really care about their customers and take pride in what they serve. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending this spot to friends and family.

I recently celebrated my birthday at Rumhouse, a spot that had been on my must-try list for a while, so I was really looking forward to the experience. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, and the host who checked us in was warm and bubbly. She shared that the menu featured authentic Caribbean cuisine with bold flavors, which got us even more excited.

We started with a few appetizers: the oxtail croquettes, scallops, and a prawn dish. For our mains, we tried the gumbo and the crab & dumpling soup. The standout dish of the night was definitely the scallops, they were perfectly cooked and flavorful. Unfortunately, the other dishes fell a bit flat and lacked the depth we were expecting.

For drinks, we ordered the Rumhouse Punch and the Old Athens, both of which were excellent. However, the service from our waiter was disappointing. Despite mentioning that it was our first visit, he didn’t provide any insight into the menu or share recommendations. He rarely checked in with us and seemed to give much more attention to a nearby table. At one point, we ran out of water and drinks and had to wave him down for assistance.

Overall, Rumhouse has great potential.
The ambiance, cocktails, and concept are strong, but the inconsistency in service and some of the food left us wanting more.
