The Rum House: A New Favorite in Annapolis
We have been dying to get to The Rum House in Annapolis for a while now, and let me tell you, it was worth every second of the wait. Sometimes when you build a place up in your head, it can’t possibly live up to the hype, but this experience totally exceeded our expectations.
From the moment we walked in, the management made us feel incredibly welcome. It is refreshing to go somewhere where the hospitality feels this genuine. Our server was excellent as well, attentive and clearly proud of the menu they are serving.
The food and drinks were the real stars of the show. We started with the signature rum punch, and you have to love the flames for that extra bit of flair. For appetizers, the lobster bisque was rich and silky, and the doubles were the perfect flavorful start to the meal. For the main course, the rockfish was cooked to absolute perfection. It was fresh, flaky, and exactly what you want when dining in a town like Annapolis. We managed to save just enough room for the guava cheesecake, which was a tropical, creamy dream of a dessert.
If you are looking for a spot that delivers on atmosphere, service, and incredible Caribbean-inspired flavors, The Rum House is it. We are already planning our next visit.

Delicious food and cocktails combined with an attentive, punctual staff make for a great meal! We particularly enjoyed the coco madame, chicken, and guava cheesecake. The decor was perfect for creating a feel of being in the Caribbean and the staff was the best around. The only knock is that it is loud in the main dining area; we were able to talk fine, but others might have an issue, especially in a larger group.

Wish I had taken pictures because the food was both visually stunning as well as delicious! There is no doubt that attention was given to every aspect of this quaint establishment starting with the on site parking, the outdoor lounge area, the warm and cozy dining room and the all season enclosed patio. Our server was friendly and extremely attentive. We enjoyed the gumbo and the restaurant week menu of lobster bisque, rockfish with veloute sauce and guava cheesecake. Every bite was scrumptious and perfectly prepared. The cocktail/mocktail menu was filled with delightful choices. One simply cannot go wrong choosing to dine here, cannot wait to go back!

First time eating at Rumhouse and it could not have been better. The food is phenomenal and the service is equal. The bartenders and waiters were very attentive and gave excellent recommendations. When the bill came and we realized they are a tip-free restaurant, we realized why the service is so good - people are taken care of.

I just went to Rumhouse for restaurant week which was also my first time there. I have to preface by saying I have multiple allergies (gluten, dairy, soy) so eating at restaurants can be super challenging. Rumhouse was more than accommodating!! Our server Ian asked right away if there were any dietary restrictions and that was the only time he mentioned it. Although my friend and I ordered the exact dishes (apps, main course, dessert), Ian and the kitchen staff made sure my meals were suited to my needs. Everything was perfect! I felt so at ease knowing my food was handled in a way so that I could eat it without worry. I honestly felt like the food was just picked, caught, and cooked all within the hour. It was so fresh and delicious. The drinks were amazing, not too strong but enjoyable! The decor and atmosphere felt like a tropical vacation. 10/10 recommend and can't wait to go back!

We went to Rumhouse and it did not disappoint! We started with the traditional mojito and a rum flight. Both were perfectly crafted and delicious. The food was amazing! Our server Nate was very friendly, informative, and gave us the perfect amount of attention. Richard was also wonderful and not only seated us, but gave us an introduction to the newly opened restaurant, and checked on us throughout the meal. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and we look forward to returning.
