Sailor Oyster Bar had been one of my favorite spots in Annapolis and I was so happy when it reopened after a long closure due to fire. The food remains disappointing...unfortunately. And I am compelled to give this negative review because the food quality is maybe a 4 but the price is a 1. A single octopus tentacle for $26! One can eat cheaper and better in NYC (or across the street at Metropolitan). I wish this weren't the case. Has ownership lost its way?

The food is fantastic, the service is very attentive. My only ding on atmosphere is that with all the hard wood flooring, furniture, and hard walls, the volume is LOUD whenever the place is full, (which is most of the time).

We’ve visited Sailor Oyster Bar many times, and each experience leaves us excited to return. We arrived around 5:30pm on a Friday. There was no room for us downstairs so we sat upstairs; it was our first time there, and we enjoyed it, though I still prefer the vibe and atmosphere downstairs. The upstairs does offer its own bar and bathroom, which is convenient. We always order the special of the day, and the oysters were as delicious as ever. We tried a variety of dishes, and every bite was fantastic. The attentive staff, top-quality and creative food, great drinks, inviting atmosphere, and excellent happy hour prices are what keep us coming back. Keep up the amazing work, S.O.B.!
Parking: There are a few garages around the area. You can also park on the street, metered parking.

Incredible food and cocktail menu. Megan the bartender was a wealth of knowledge and the owner is insanely cool. I’ve been to a ton of oyster bars in the US and this was by far the best.

It's a real nice place. The reason for the poor review is because of two things. 1. The scallops served were cut in half! So, in essence two scallops were served as four. Unbelievable, never experienced such a thing in my life! Poke' bowl was good though. Great Drinks. Service was marginal, had to ask for bread, no butter served and no check-in after the food was served.

Just can’t write enough about the SOB! Wonderful and healthy with attention to detail and requests.Such a tasty surprise, the perfect spot for dinner. The service was terrific! We had scallops and octopus with the arugula salad and it was so good, I had no time to photo our meals because we ate them! Started with humus and did NOT ruin our appetite as mom warns… Pls go! Since the fire (so sorry) we waited so long and now it’s better than ever!

We can not say enough good things about Sailor Oyster Bar. We celebrated our 50th anniversary and we're treated to an unforgettable seafood feast. We had an assortment of oysters arranged by geography to taste the difference in water temp and salinity. We had octopus carpaccio that was sensational and the best smoked tuna ever tasted. All topped off with Portugese canned pickled octopus. Scott Herbst was a sensational host and we appreciate his hospitality. Meagan and the entire staff made the night unforgettable.
