Don’t walk… RUN to Umami!! The food, service and atmosphere are all outstanding. We had the crispy rangoon (not pictured) along with the pepper corn spicy pork soup dumplings to start. The rangoon were fried to perfection while the soup dumplings were literal perfection. I couldn’t stop eating them! We also had the spicy beef ramen… one word: AMAZING! I am definitely returning to sample the rest of the menu!

We discovered Umami Ramen & Dumplings while grabbing coffee at Panera and decided to come back for dinner — what a great choice! The restaurant was clean, stylish, and welcoming. I ordered the vegan ramen, and it was fantastic: deeply flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and incredibly satisfying. Prices were reasonable for the quality, and service was quick and friendly. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and we’d definitely eat here again next time we’re in Annapolis.

The restaurant was clean, but unfortunately, the service was rude and unprofessional. The food had an unpleasant smell (like a porta potty) and absolutely no flavor — I’ve never had ramen this bland in my life. Based on the overly positive reviews, I suspect many customers simply aren’t familiar with authentic flavor or spice... owe white Annapolis culture… Sadly, we won’t be returning — I doubt this place will last long… oh wayyyyybover priced and portions were small

Disappointing food. First time here. Took several minutes to get waitress attention though it wasn’t crowded at all. We chose the Tantanken ramen which was labeled as “spicy”. We told the waitress we like it very spicy. Also ordered the shishito peppers. The ramen broth was extremely bland, tasteless, without the slightest hint of any flavor or spiciness. Was like drinking pork broth. And the shishito peppers, where everywhere else come in a heaping pile on a plate, were on a plate of ten, without sauce or spice.
This food could be satisfactory for someone unfamiliar with true ramen or who has a very bland palate. I would describe this as “ramen-lite”. But for anyone who’s has traditional, flavorful ramen this might be a let-down as it was for us.

Disappointed. Ordered spicy tantamman.. Ramen. Asked for extra spicy. Very, very, very bland. Even with extra soy sauce. Asked for spices that i could add. Got chili oil. So basically had oily Ramen. Not many veggies. Ramen was done well. Chashua was just ok. Nothing like Ramen we've had other places. Lady at front was loud and speaking in a different language like she was angry. Threw menus at table and didnt even bring us to table.... i had to point at the table and another lady said yes. Didn't offer any help with her favorites... she likes them all. It is similar to something you'd get at a mall eatery.
Fantastic ramen 🤤
Also great soup dumplings and delicious tempura cheesecake.

I think the portions size is too small. The chashu bowel I got was way too salty. All 3 of my kids said Japan was significantly better. The soup dumplings were ok. But besides that there isn't too Asian restaurants in the area and you should give it a try and get your own options.

Beautiful, clean and artful dining room. Food is plated nicely. The ramen broth is flavorful, and the prices are fair. There are also several vegetarian options which is a plus for me. We will definitely be back!

Vegan ramen was delicious and other vegan options such as potstickers and tofu bao buns (minus the mayo) were delightful! I’ve only ever ordered to go and everything is fresh, hot, and tasty!

Umami is okay. I personally wouldnt say its the best ever, but its food is good! Its just very overpriced.
I got their ramen when they first opened, and while it was good, it was a small bowl for the price. I also asked if I could get the miso spicy which never happened.
The atmosphere is amazing. The decor is beautiful and I seriously enjoy just sitting down in the resturant and just enjoying the architecture and decor. The staff is also very attentive and nice! I just can’t get past the size of the food I get for the price. The bowl was half the size of a large ramen bowl you get at regular ramen shops, which for $16-$17 is crazy. The taste isnt mind blowing or anything either, its just…okay. Its good, but not great. Its not terrible but nothing I’d recommend. Its very middle of the road, and considering Annapolis has 2 other ramen shops with much better ramen options, I would rather go to either 2 of them before I went to Umami.
Umami isn’t bad, its not great, its just okay, at least for ramen it is.
