I went the Annapolis, Maryland restaurant location today for their Taco Tuesday special. I had one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever encountered before and I will never eat there again WEN iI sat down I ordered a classic Margarita to go with the Tacos, I WAITED 45 MINUTES FOR THE MARGAITA AND SAT THERE EATING THE TACOS. sEVERAL TIMES I asked my server for the Margarita still to no avail. Finally I was so irritated that I went to the bar myself to get the drink, I was then told that the Manager had told the Server not to give me a drink. I don't understand this at all. I'm 62 years old and I was completely sober and only wanted one drink. There are plenty of good Mexican restaurants in Annapolis. I don't need to spend my money and be treated like this.

I want to like this place. It's kind of tex mex. I have had the ceviche and it was spicy and fresh. Next I had the wings. They are on the small size unfortunately but flavor isn't bad. The pazole was a little bland. I was hoping for cilantro and onion with it but it was just shredded meat with radish and red onion. Birria tacos were bland as well. The consume was very thick like a canned enchilada sauce. The chicken tortilla soup is a thick base, not a chicken stock some may be used too. Burrito was ok. Just lacks flavor in alot of things.
The Charo beans are really good though.
As you can tell, I have tried many things here.

Delicious Mexican food ,we sat at the bar, per our bartender’s (Leslie ) recommendation we had the carne asada and it did not disappoint. It was cooked perfectly very flavorful.
Try the chacho Libre for great spicy cocktail.

Music is SO LOUD. Couldn’t even talk to my family the entire time. Waitress also brought me the wrong dish & persistently fought with me trying to charge me for it instead of what I actually ordered. Never returning to this place. Chevys will always be #1.

Started with chips and salsa that I literally couldn't stop eating - so good. Everything tasted fresh and everything came out hot and quickly. Got the shrimp fajitas and really liked the homemade tortillas. The vibe in there is super cool and since it was a nice day they had the big door open for the indoor-outdoor bar. Awesome new spot!

Absolutely enjoyed eating here! The staff and atmosphere is 10/10. If you’re looking for a great place to eat some Tex mix food this is the place. Also, ask for Gaby she is the number 1 server to get!

We will never return to eat there, and I would recommend to my friends/family to consider our experience and beware.

I generally look for positives to share in reviews, but this experience was such that I have little good to say.

Reservation: One positive is that they accepted a reservation. However, we were locked into choosing indoor seating, and our table location was awful for many reasons.

Location: Another potential positive. Restaurant occupies a nice corner location in the town center, and the outdoor seating looked pleasant. I suppose it suffers the same parking-garage-distance hit as any town center restaurant, but it is near a convenient passenger drop-off point.

Ambience: On the plus, there was a mild energy, and lively music encouraged people - adults at the bar, children at tables - to dance. On the minus, it was waaay too warm (noteworthy because I love heat, and I’m usually too cold in restaurants). There was a large bug crawling along the floorboards. The baseboard lighting was directed in our eyes like oncoming traffic headlights. The overhead lighting was sometimes adequate, but they adjusted it twice - bright/dark/bright.

Bathroom: (M) Standard, partially wet floor, ordinary wash-up, overflowing trashcan. Hand-handle exit.

Food: Presented nicely; ordinary taste at best. We easily have half a dozen nearby Mexican fare options with much more memorable and enjoyable fare. The water was fine, but the Coke/Pepsi was terrible. My companions liked the margs well enough.

Service: Our waitress was pleasant and checked on us appropriately; however, multiple servers came and went from our table, and I generally felt like we were an annoyance to them simply by being there. The restaurant wasn’t even half-filled, yet we felt rushed at every juncture except - thankfully - when it was time to pay. One server brought a guac order to our table and then had to get an interpreter to understand as we asked if the guac was complimentary (part of the salsa and chips?) - it wasn’t - and to explain that we didn’t order it. They interrupted our conversations to pour water multiple times even though our glasses were 75% full. They continually removed the table’s dinner plates the instant it looked like any person finished eating and even tried grabbing one of the margs before we were done drinking.

Bill: We were a party of four, and I think we ordered simple, inexpensive meals, but our ticket was $173. I was surprised to discover they did not accept the coupon/discount I signed up for in advance. Their web site promoted using the inKind payment app, and signing up offered a discounted meal. Bait and switch. At bill time - I learned that “because it’s a new restaurant” they don’t (yet?) use inKind and the discount was not applicable. At least it was easy-ish to delete my newly-created inKind account and remove the app, but time will tell if I end up receiving SPAM text messages.

I don’t enjoy writing negative reviews, and I genuinely hope the best for this fledgling franchise, but our opinion is that - if our singular experience is any indication of a true pattern - the Annapolis clientele won’t have patience with a place like this. There are many better options for spending your dining dollars.

Kid-friendliness: Nearby table had a group of young kids - three or four girls aged between probably 4 and 7 - who seemed to be having fun (including dancing together in the aisles) and their parent group was relaxed and appeared to be enjoying themselves.

I normally don’t leave reviews, but compelled to leave feedback for this new restaurant. Food was very bad, service was slow and the waitress was unpleasant, overpriced, and the ambience underwhelming. The food came out unseasoned, bland, and margarita was flat and watered down, disappointed after $100 bill.

The atmosphere is weird. The restaurant is trying to be too many things. My enchiladas tasted like a pizza. I’m still struggling to make that make sense. The price of the food does not match the quality. You can taste the metal can it came from. The manager is nice but seems to struggle to manage his crew. No one seems to know what they are doing or what their specific role is. Our server was so out of touch I am pretty sure he didn’t even know he was serving us. At the end of the day there are better options that are locally owned and less expensive.
