I dine here frequently, because the place has great food and service. Even when the place is busy, food always comes out in a timely manner. I just read some other reviews regarding quality of food, and pricing. As far as pricing, while some menu items have gone up over the past couple of years, I still find their portion to price ratio to be good. If you’re going to complain about prices going up, I guess you don’t do the grocery shopping in your house. Don’t expect a business to maintain prices from 4/5 years ago. Everything is more expensive today. If you find it too expensive for your liking, stay home and cook your own meal. Food quality: I’ve never had a disappointing meal here, and have tried just about everything on the menu.

Went to dine at 11:30 with my son who wanted to sit in the swings, and despite every seat being open was told its only for parties of 8 or more. Despite having done this 2x in the last month with him. Its the only point in eating here because their food isnt worth the price. Tried to call and discuss with managment but they just let the phone ring. Guess all the talk on fb is true about this place. Shame harford county still supports this business.

Former frequent customer, rockfish tender appetizer used to be 6 now 4 for the same price of $14,chicken sandwich same price 1/2 the former size, substitute fries for an additional cost 1/2 former portion.same great service but shrink flation.not sure if there is new ownership, either way a bad business decision especially for a restaurant that thrives on regular customers, won't be back

Great atmosphere, good pricing, plenty of little nooks and crannies both inside and out, depending on the mood or the vibe you want. Will come back for sure!

The Hickory Lodge has been one of our Go-To restaurants for years...We have always had great service, food has been good. However, recently, I took my adult son to lunch on March 29, and brought takeout food home to my husband. Food seemed fine, service was exceptional, had a great experience. Then I got home. Immediately, I had to get to the bathroom for a nasty experience in the bathroom, multiple times. A short time later, my son was in the bathroom having the same painful and awful experience in the bathroom. About 30 minutes after my husband ate the carry out food I brought home from Hickory Lodge, he had the same awful experience in the bathroom. My daughter, who DID NOT eat food from Hickory Lodge was the only person who DID NOT get sick.I called and spoke with the manager, Roger, who was polite, but suggested that gastro symptoms usually appear 24-48 hours after eating and we should consider where else we had eaten previously, as that may be the culprit. We had not eaten out previously and mind you, my adult son does not live at home and had not eaten with us in a week, got sick as well, so it is quite suspicious that all 3 of us had issues within an hour of eating food from the establishment. (Adult daughter who did not eat there was just fine....). I asked for a refund of the food since it made us all ill, and the manager told us he would reach out to the owner. I received a call the next day from Roger, who said he had spoken to the owner and she has decided not to refund or comp us for our misery.I cannot say I would recommend eating at this establishment after our experience and we likely will not return.I stand by my comments: 3 of my family was sick within a short time after eating at the Lodge and the only person who did not get sick was the only person in our family that did not eat food from the Hickory Lodge. After several hours and immodium and pepto, the three of us were fine, no other illness. That's no stomach bug, the commonality was eating food from the Lodge.

10/10 recommend! We went on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't too busy. There are several seating areas! We have no complaints. The bartender was very helpful and polite! She actually gave recommendations and she did not fail us. The crabby fries were so delicious I forgot to snap a picture. The blueberry bourbon smash isn't on the menu but she had to problem making it for me. Stir fry - made to order and was finger licking good Meatloaf- the way it was inhaled I knew it was good I can't wait to go back and the try different things

Overall, I caution my friends that the food is mediocre in moderate quantities and rather over-priced for the value you get from plain food

Good food every time we've been with the exception of the shrimp pasta. Servers always cool. Swing seating limited to large parties or reservations. Atmosphere woody.
