Ray's is an awesome place to relax and have a great meal overlooking the River and birds. You can even arrive by boat and pull up at their pier if you're out for a day in the sun. When you walk through the door you feel like you're traveling back to a simpler time. The rustic charm of yesteryear on the water. Ray is always tending the bar to offer up a great cold beer or mixed drink. Emma Jean will greet you with a smile and an OKAY! to your order. Then Cody will get to work on making your fresh made to order meal. Now you can sip your cold beer and gaze out over the river and maybe even see the Osprey swoop down and grab a fish. Give Ray's a try, you won't be disappointed.

If you like fried, you'll like Rays if not they have a very filling tuna etc. cold plates and get your beets included got to Love it. You will not be disappointed I've been to 4 different places for my fried oyster most of the time basket without a doubt Rays was the best of the other 3 places by far I think the cook cares what He puts out and tries to satisfy now don't know about parties of 3 or more

Food was good, view was nice, waitress was sweet. Atmosphere was a little dated for my liking. Went for blue crab but they were out. Their crab legs and shrimp were cooked well and well seasoned. Waitress was sweet but a little busy so found ourselves waiting for a few things. Definitely a good establishment.

Nice, home town restaurant super Crab Cakes as well as other local cuisine. Great views of the Patuxent River.
I can’t believe I’m seeing some negative reviews here. Rays is the best place I’ve ever been for blue crabs. Always steamed perfect. The crabs are LARGE or bigger. I’ve been going for years and it’s the only place I’ll go for crabs. It’s a crab restaurant not some five star Manhattan dining experience if you want crabs this is where you go!!!!

Went to eat with our group yesterday 10 of us ! When we walked in we were not greeted nicely at all ! My cousins mother watched a staff member shake his head no to the waitress and told us 90 min wait on food ! Restaurant was not busy at all ! Very disappointed and won’t be going back to try it ‘

What a delightful, enchanting, step back in time, old-fashioned family owned crab house, and restaurant ~ right on the water! To die for crabs, steamed to perfection and the absolute best homemade coleslaw, EVER ~ made by Chef Patrick/Cody.
Our food was absolutely delicious, and what a great jukebox ~ yes they have a bar!!
Come by boat or car ~ just get there. If you’re in a hurry past this one by ~ because a lot of dishes are hand battered and made to order ~ good ole fashion food takes time to make. Grab a drink and take a stroll on the brand new pier, the view is breathtaking.
This was just what my every day hurried soul needed ~ a little piece of heaven with a side order of crabs.
Thank you, Ray’s Pier ~ we had an absolutely marvelous time.

What a gem, rustic authentic Waterman Restaurant!! Excellent crab soup,crab cake, coleslaw was homemade, grilled chicken sandwich was moist and tender!!! And Patrick is super sweet, the bread pudding was delicious ?
