It would have been a shame to not make it to Boxcar on main on our trip — fortunately, we made it there to have our last dinner in Berlin! It was a bit busy when we arrived, but we were able to sit at the bar and order immediately. Matt was the bartender and he was great — knew the drinks, knew the menu, and was really easy to talk to. For the few questions we had, he deferred to the kitchen staff. As a celiac, I was very happy to hear they have a gluten free dedicated fryer. I was able to get the steak frites! It was an awesome meal.My husband and I had a few cocktails between us. All were delicious. We loved talking to Matt about what he liked and how he tended to craft cocktails. It’s definitely a place we’ll come again the next time we’re out this way!
Parking: Street parking!
Dietary restrictions: They now have a dedicated fryer for gluten free items! When I asked the bartender questions, he asked the kitchen, and that was really great. I felt confident I wouldn’t end up sick.
My wife and I each ordered a brunch entree, but we split one appetizer, and with tax the bill was a little under $47 -- very reasonable for the high quality food. The Bom Devilish Eggs was excellent. The Boxcar Chesapeake was excellent. The Burger and fries was excellent.A++ will return
I definitely recommend this place! We happened to stop by looking for a place that has gluten free options. The staff were super friendly and cool with our rambunctious son. The food was DELICIOUS! I highly recommend the Woyobgc sandwich. Brisket, bacon jam, and sharp cheddar! The fries were super good as well! Gluten free buns and a dedicated fryer. Couldn’t ask fore more! We will be back.
The beer was ice cold. Started off with crab pretzel.the crab has fantastic. They I got a cheeseburger and that was good as well. Lisa our waitress was very prompt and courteous.will definitely come back again
Great place food was great. A little pricey but not bad over all. Had the fish and chips which was two big pieces of cod and French fries. Had the deviled egg with steak and was good but I was told the ones with pulled pork are the best.
Matt, our server and bartender, was fantastic. The food, all of it-we ordered lots, was excellent ?!On top of it tasting great it was a Very reasonable priced meal which was refreshing. See you again soon!
Best pork chop we've had in ages! Eat at the bar for some great drinks and conversation with Matt, the awesome bartender! French onion soup another yummy side to get!
Tasty food. I just don’t think I love chicken and waffles.. Service was decent and kind especially considering they seemed understaffed.Drinks were a lot of fun too.I don’t love southern food, but I would send someone here for brunch with good conscience
Very pleasant lunch. Interior is very nice and servers are good. Interesting menu. Had hamburger with fried egg. Very good and large. Fries were good and CRISPY. Son had the hot dog with halapenos...also big and tasty.
Parking: On street and parking at the US Post office lot. On a Sunday, a lot of spaces.
Usually just share my best experiences on here. This place was a little pricey but had a very upscale vibe and the food and service was wonderful. I think the host and waitress and a bus boy attended to us at least twelve times during our hour and a half or so. Everyone was very friendly and attentive. The options were a little off-beat but presented very nicely and were delicious. The decor was also cool with lots of exposed wood and neat signage and trinkets. Really enjoyed

Overall: Fantastic experience.Notables:Seafood risotto was amazing. (Perhaps a little sparse on the seafood portions.)Wait staff was attentive.Atmosphere was relaxed.I'd definitely come again!
Excellent dinning experience! Visiting Berlin and happened upon this place. Service, drinks and food were all terrific. Definitely recommend.
We went here for dinner one nite. We both had ceasar salads and a drink it was good. Our server was very nice too. It wasn't expensive either.
Three adults for dinner and our waiter, Sean, needs some training. Long stretches of abandonment and a French onion soup served for dessert. "Baked" chicken wings that were soupy, sloppy, and unremarkable, decent deviled eggs and everything thereafter bland, tasteless, undercooked, and holy expensive. A $39.00 rib eye that was every bit of a half inch thick, crab cakes that had the distinct taste of fish, and a decent filet. Everyone wanted dessert but the above citations scared us away. Sean got a 15% tip he didn't deserve and $230.00 later, we promised ourselves never to return.
We stopped here on our way back from Chincoteague. We were looking for a quaint place to have brunch and we found it! We were seated at a cozy booth by the brick oven. We started with a couple of Bloody Marys and the deviled eggs (I can't even remember all that was in them but they were delicious!) My boyfriend ordered the Boxcar Chesapeake - fried greed tomatoes with poached eggs and crab meat (he said the kale was a little overwhelming in the dish, but he still ate all of it!) I ordered the French Toast on a whim and am so glad I did - my boyfriend had major food envy! The French Toast had melted brie on each slice with berry preserves - would've never thought of adding brie to French Toast but apparently that's what I've been missing my whole life - sooooo good!
