I'm a coffee professional and had been on a whirlwind road trip from PA to NC. It had been days of bad gas station coffee and I needed a fresh and well brewed cup of coffee. I searched along my route and found On What Grounds Cafe to be a short detour from my route. Located in a beautiful and quaint little town, I was pleasantly surprised to find they serve Intelligentsia and I enjoyed a delicious cup of Colombian single origin they were featuring on batch brew. Not only was the coffee fresh and well brewed, the barista was very welcoming and kind, even with how busy she was! I will definitely be stopping at On What Grounds Cafe anytime I'm traveling the Delmarva Peninsula! Thank you!

I placed a large order, but after waiting 30 minutes, I was missing several items. Frustrated, I approached the workers making drinks and politely asked for my missing items, as the cashier seemed to be ignoring me. The whole bean dark roast coffee bag included in my order resulted in oily and bitter-tasting coffee. However, the pastries were a redeeming quality of the shop.

Great customer service and atmosphere, the woman working at the counter was very nice.The food was good, I have celiac disease and was able to get a gluten free espresso brownie and a pumpkin loaf. However, the iced mocha was dissapointing.
