I saw a social media ad and decided to give this local DMV restaurant’s “pull up” service a try. Firstly, the delivery was two hours behind schedule which was such an inconvenience. I ordered the Lil Boss and when I finally got it, it was missing the Cajun sausage. Food tasted mediocre and was drowning in butter. This was nothing special and I won’t be coming back.

A week or so ago I saw an ad they were coming up from Maryland and doing pop ups around Pittsburgh. I immediately put in an order as you can’t really get good crab around here. They showed up in an unmarked truck which was kinda sketch, but my wife and I laughed figuring it would make a funny story as long as no one got sick. Ordered the Full Combo and the Big Boss crab cake platter. From the full combo, shrimp wasn’t bad but weren’t amazing either, it was missing the sausage from the order and the king crab legs were some of the smallest I’d ever seen. Kinda overpriced for what came with that. The Big Boss crab cake meal, good lord… two crab cakes that were completely average at best. Not overly big, and kinda “meh…” flavor wise. Outside of that, of the two, both were loaded with shell pieces. I guess that takes the place of filler? You could kind of eat around them in the one, but the other was inedible there were so many in it. I had to throw it away, $25 out the window on that one alone. I grew up around Baltimore, and I completely understand it’s impossible to guarantee you won’t find a sliver of shell and occasionally you may find a small piece, but holy cow… that one crab cake alone had easily four times more shell in one cake than I’ve ever gotten across all the crab cakes I’ve had over decades of eating them. Overall super overpriced, super overhyped and dramatically under delivered.

Overpriced food, tastes very mediocre, you can literally smell that the crab legs and shrimp are not cleaned properly. The place has no heat and you’re spending $100 on food!! Crab legs are small BTW and they use canned crab meat for the Boss Fries. Don’t waste your time driving an hour to this place!

Ordered from the Roanoke pop up today. I was skeptical after seeing other reviews but the Seafood Mac was soooo good. Yes a little pricey for a small container but that container was packed full. I would love to try it fresh instead of reheated but I gotta say the flavor was on point. Delivery was on time!

I very much enjoy the food, NEVER HAD A PICK UP PROBLEM AN I do pickups from Suffolk Virginia and Greenville North Carolina yes I do follow this truck it is worth it,The food is great 💯 the people are so professional always laughing and joking, Love your food Crab Boss!!!

Chesapeake pull up was delayed due to weather but when I got home and reheated the seafood fried rice I was not disappointed. Peas corn peppers plenty of shrimp and crab. Every bite was delightfully delicious. I know now to order the soup ASAP. Must be a hot commodity seeing it was already sold out.
Listen to these reviews. Just got food from a drop-in in Harrisburg NC. I ordered the seafood fried rice and the soup and I’ve gotten much better from my local Chinese takeout that cost half the price. Also yes the rice has crab shells in it like all of the other reviews stated. I almost chipped my tooth. I had to season the rice myself with Cajun seasoning because it had zero flavor. Please listen to the reviews. The food is absolutely tasteless with no flavor. Save your money to support another reputable Black business because this isnt it. Also note the food will be cold, so don’t expect hot food. At least they were only 15 minutes late vs hours.

I just wanted to let you know, your food is great but not worth the aggravation of waiting until whenever your drivers decide to show up. I also had asked you for a refund for an entire month which I was blatantly ignored until I said I would just pick up the food that I never got at another pull up. Clearly you and your staff have no respect or courtesy for your customers. You also clearly have a problem with punctuality and time management. I will never buy anything else from your business. I have also saved every message from every driver and email and will be blasting this on every social media website including reddit to show how poorly managed your company is. I wouldn't order another thing from you IF YOU PAID ME. That being said I just really wanted you to know how truly disappointing my dealings with you have been. My guess is you won't exist in a year and I am here for it.

We are in New York and we ordered delivery picked up and heated up in our oven to say outstanding is to put it lightly. We are crab connoisseurs, and very picky about our seafood. Can’t say enough about this. Unbelievable will order again.

So disappointed in the food I bought and received on Sat at the pick up location in Newark, I purchased three items and only one of them were decent. The seafood Mac was nothing but boil noodles and sauce with shrimp on top with season on it, it was nothing seafood Mac about it. The boil platter was giving it was FROZEN before, the sausage seem like it was cut out the package and not even cooked!!! The buss down crabs was the only decent thing. But to spend $135 on food I didn’t eat is VERY UPSETTING!!!! Also the young man handing out the food wasn’t even welcoming.

The food was not cheap and I did panic a bit after reading some reviews after I had already ordered but oooooh my god am I glad I did. Everything was FANTASTIC, perfect amount of spice, the butter sauce the potatoes and corn came in was phenomenal, and the crab legs were to diiiieee for. Last meal level delicious. I’m currently very pregnant so it was truly a transcendent experience for me lol.
