First time here. Won't be the last. You walk in to see great art and great music. Already I'm happy. Friendly place too. The food selection is amazing. I loved when I ordered. It was so much, I had to get a box.
Second time here! Food was amazing both times, service was awesome, and really good portion sizes. Ive never been to Cuba but ive tried "americanized- cuban food" this seems to be authentic! I will definitely be back.

We started with some classic margaritas (excellent) and a special starter of plantains topped with Ropa Vieja; it was excellent. Our entrees were the shrimp in garlic and butter and the chicken Salteado. Both were well-prepared, well-plated and delicious. Capped off the meal with Tres Leches for dessert. Have been coming here for years, and the food is always good. This meal was excellent from start to finish.
I'm Cuban and I had been dying to find a Cuban place in the dmv with good food. It was amazing! My husband and I are definitely visiting again, even though it is an hour drive for us.
Cuba de Ayer is our family's favorite restaurant in the area. Our dining experience was outstanding, as usual. Once again, I ordered my favorite dish, shrimp in garlic sauce. The sauce is fantastic, especially when you dip the warm bread in it! The staff are always pleasant and helpful. I highly recommend Cuba de Ayer.
The service is wonderful and the food is authentic. The kids menu is great too. Can’t wait to come back!

My kid doesn't want your damn bananas. But in good Cuban compulsory communist form, you need to take the bananas and upcharge the fries. So I'll just pull it from your server's tip. Maybe they'll get you to change your commie ways??! Also, the pot roast and the roast pork in your Cuban sandwich both taste like dead paper towels. What happened here???

Awesome local find with fantastic food. Get the garlic shrimp appetizer and the Caribbean salmon. Yummy.
