A couple nights ago, the sky was dark and the clouds were threatening rain. I decided to go and check-in with the friendly team at Via Roma which has become a great place for both locals and visitors to DC. I was not disappointed. The staff are always gracious and welcoming. “Angelica” and “Matilda”greeted me with a smile. “Tony” the Chef and “Biagio” who is one of the owners both greeted me. Then, a couple of my neighbors at the bar exclaimed their surprise and delight at my arrival. “Let’s celebrate!” Once again, a group of locals and friends enjoyed the restaurant’s delicious pizzas, wine, and beer. I recommend everyone save room for desert! ENJOY!

A fabulous addition to Woodley Park. My first time here. And the pappardelle with lamb Ragu was absolutely sublimely delicious.
Nice wines.
Can't wait to go back to try their highly praised pinsa pizza.

Staff is friendly, attentive and not pushy.

Incredible buratta with cured pork . Huge portion .

Pinza was sublime . Big enough for two modest eaters .
Matilde ( who’s from Milano) a great server . Biaggio ( the owner ) makes certain everything is perfect

Via Roma has been a favorite of mine since they first opened in Camp Springs, MD back in 2020. Now in DC just steps from the Woodley Park Metro the quality, flavors, and welcoming atmosphere have stayed just as great—if not better. Definitely worth the visit whether you’re a longtime fan or trying them for the first time.

My wife and I brought our 1st Grade Granddaughter here after the Zoo. We ended up here after a very disappointing experience with the Italian Restaurant up the street. As it turns out, it was perfect. We had a great meal and great service on the patio up front. I wish I could remember our servers name. I think it started with a C. He showed us pictures of his cat. He was very polite and good with our granddaughter. I would highly recommend this place for a nice meal and a great atmosphere.

The best authentic Italian food in DC. The owner Biagio and chef Tony are absolute gems! We have been eating here since they had a location in Maryland and it quickly became our #1 spot. We have been to Italy and have eaten through every popular Italian restaurant in the city, yet still have not found a pasta dish better than Chef Tony’s. Their pizza puts others’ to shame and they have somehow managed to make a salad that taste like nothing I have ever had before! & the cocktails are stellar. You can tell Via Roma is passionate about making food that is truly excellent. We bring all of our out of town friends and family to Via Roma and they always ask for it again when they visit us! If you can’t tell already, I highly recommend.

Vegetarian options: very veggie forward! many many options that are entirely meat free.

Dietary restrictions: They take food restrictions very seriously! Came to our table to clarify if it is an allergy vs intolerance. Many gluten free and dairy free options. They also got specific about substitution options to ensure we will like what they are making!
