Took my son there around noon. Seating was immediate, staff was courteous. Pretzel bites with cheese and the burger both 13 yr old approved. Dad enjoyed the Monte Cristo. Only wish I hadn't got in trouble with the wife since I've never taken her here. Would definitely bring her next time!

I used to frequent this restaurant for many years. I even had my wedding party dinner here. Unfortunately, I am very disappointed lately. I tried to come to dinner on christmas eve (my wedding anniversary) and was told sorry it is reservation only. There was not even the offer to make a reservation for later in the evening. The dining room was not crowded. I tried to give them another chance tonight and was told sorry the kitchen closed early at 8pm.

great selection on the menu and the good is tasty. We gather here for meetiiand the staff is very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend them.

Matthew’s has transitioned into an average dining experience. A few years ago it was a special dining experience. Now just an over priced place that serves small portion entrees and expensive drinks. Making things worse….they make the customer eat the 4% processing fee for paying by debit/credit!!!! WHO pays with cash anymore?? Something shady going on with their books.

Last Thanksgiving, I made a reservation at Matthew’s 1600 to share a healing meal with loved ones. We had all lost family members, and after losing both of my parents, I wanted to create a space where we could unite in our grief and find a little comfort together. But the night before, I tested positive for COVID. I did the right thing and called to cancel so I wouldn’t risk anyone else’s health. Instead of compassion, they charged me $200 for a dinner I never got. No offer to send food home. No credit. No kindness. What was supposed to be a night of healing became another wound. It felt like being stabbed in the back during one of the hardest seasons of my life. It wasn’t just about the money—it was about how heartless it felt to be treated that way when we were already grieving. After moving back to my childhood home, I now drive past this place almost every day—a restaurant where I once made memories with my parents, and now all I see is disappointment. This year, as I plan Thanksgiving again, I just want people to know: Matthew’s 1600 had a chance to show compassion, and instead they showed me how little they value community.
