Prices were good, nice wide clean isles but long lines to check out. Cashier (young blond was rude) no smile, no response to question.

Stop by this supermarket, the collection of foodstuffs, drinks and fruit is very complete. There is also a Starbucks coffee shop inside. The place is clean with ample parking. Very helpful for sudden needs while traveling.

Really expensive and some of the nearby convenience stores have better prices. Make sure to check expiration dates too. Many times I noticed food especially packaged food was over 4-6 months expired. There is a lot of checkout registers but your lucky if there is one cashier available. You can use self checkout but good luck... Prices are often wrong too, therefore you need to wait for service to correct the mistake. Good luck.

Stopped by Safeway in Chester today. Picked up a rotisserie chicken, got home, opened the bag to prepare dinner…found a slow moving FLY walking around the chicken! Unbelievable. Store response when I called…”sorry, anything else?” When I sated I guess not the gal actually stated “awesome.” UNBELIEVABLE! This is customer service of the millennial age.

A lot is available there. Sometime very good some others time not so much. Yet offering is abundant. Prices are very changeable and some time not really making sense. Check what you are charged as sometime there is a disconnect between posted prices and what is charged at the cashier. People at Safeway are usually very nice. Overall is a good place to shop.

1. Everything on my list was available 2.check out clerk was the gentleman who usually serves as mgr/sup? @ front of store. I clumsily managed to tear skin twixt pinkie and adjacent finger on cart, blood ensued 3.clerk immediately goes all EMT, napkins for blood, escort to svc counter, 1st-aid kit, even opened/applied bandaid perfectly (hard to bandage one hand with only the other hand) 4. Definitely above & beyond normal svc. MANY THANX!

SafewayStopped at the Chester MD Safeway today. Not crowded... early morning. One register open.. four people in line. Was thankful they opened another lane which I was waved over to. My cashier, Stephanie, should not be at a checkout. I've been shopping Safeway for over 22 years. Prices have gotten crazy (no, not just with Safeway)- I only ask that I am able to get my food home in one piece. Stephanie was too busy talking on the phone (ear piece in) while also chatting with an employee at the end of the register who was on break. I had to repack several items after she packed with no concern for what she was putting in the bag - pastries were upside down in with canned food, vegetables in with heavy items... but, to come home and find the bag of spaghetti under 8 pounds of potatoes... I am done. I called and asked to speak with a manager (I have never complained before) but, just kept going through the automated system after being on hold for several minutes. Finally hung up. It's ok though... new grocery store coming to the island and now Whole Foods delivers (9.95 fee-less than bridge toll and gas) but between them and Amazon I get get everything I need.

I thought this place was great. Now I hate it. Every time I shop there I get ripped off. Today Shrimp was $7.00 off. Not so. I got 1 but paid full price for 2. This happens often. Thank you for reading this, Safeway does not.
