Experience is great. One have to unerstand the food and culture. The place is simple, but the food is great every time, even to take out.The buttered Naan bread is always a winner. The samosas are big and filling, a little on the dry side, BUT the mint-cilantro sauce works its magic. If you are looking for something specific like shrimps or salmon, I suggest calling first to check for availability. They may not be available on occasions.Service is wonderful! Flavors are amazing and portions always filling. I keep going at least once a month and twice for the bread.

Good Indian food, though the spicy heat is tamed down to local tastes where I would prefer more. The garlic naan is wonderful.

I love this place. I've been to several other restaurants and Aroma has them beat. Glad we have them in our area.

We order takeout from Aroma at least twice a month, and I've never experienced any of the issues in the several negative reviews. The food is not inexpensive, but everything I've had has been delicious. Favorites include the coconut lamb, the rosemary naan, and the vegetable samosas. The staff are always friendly and the order has always been ready when I arrived. Amazing to have such great Indian/Thai food nearby!

Feels like they changed their chef. Used to be great. I had an order of chicken Tikka masala, bindi masala, samosa, salmon tikka, chicken fried rice, chili chicken, dal makhni and aloo Gobi masala. All the dish where below average quality except Bindhi masala.Disappointed because it used to be really great at the beginning years. Few month ago the same thing happened and I thought it might have been a mistake since this is the second time I believe there chef is changed. I won’t be ordering again.Problems:1.Just missing the Indian flavors. There no Indian masalas in the dish.2.Some dishes are over powered with salt where others don’t have salt at all3. Since I am Indian and cooks a lot of Indian food, I know the main thing in India food is combination of ginger, garlic and the Indian spices( cardamom, cinnamon, cloves etc. which is what exactly is missing in their dishes now.4. Tikka masala is the biggest flop. The only thing in that dish was a lot of added sugar and some cream. No flavor at all.I wish they make some good changes before losing their customers.

Storefront restaurant, but excellent food.

LOVED the chicken korma; rich, creamy, and delicious. Perfect amount of rice to go with it, too. My vegan wife tried a few different items; her favorite was the mixed pakora. We ordered takeout, as the place isn't really intended for a sit-down meal, but the person who took our order was very pleasant and even brought the food out to our car. Good about COVID precautions as well. Definitely worth a look!

Place was great when they first opened. Just had takeout and very likely will not be back. Every recipe I’ve had recently has changed from when they first opened. And they never have mango chutney. Quality has gone down hill.

Right away I took note that the staff here is super personable. The food is delicious with big portions. Adding them to my take-out rotation!

If you really like and want tastes of Indian food don’t come here. Food is dry and just smothered in sauce that has little flavor and no spice.

My friends and I love Indian food. When we decided to meet for lunch midway between our homes, we were excited to find Indian food on offer from Aroma in Chestertown, MD. Walking in, we were underwhelmed by the decor, but the welcome was warm and the menu was promising. When the food arrived, WOW! For starters, the samosas were generously filled delicate pastry, nicely spiced and fried perfectly. Our channa masala and aloo gobi masala entrees were seasoned and cooked expertly. My friends and I have had Indian food all over the world, and we've never eaten better. Seriously. Never. As we were departing, Krishna, our server, thanked us for our patronage so graciously that we felt truly appreciated.

We drove an hour and a half to meet a friend halfway from our respective homes, and had lunch at Aroma Restaurant in Chestertown. Lifelong fans of Indian food, we’ve eaten it in countries around the world, including India.Surrounded by cornfields on the outskirts of Chestertown, it seemed an unlikely place to find an Indian restaurant.Don’t let the location or the simplicity of the interior fool you…the food we were served was worthy of a white-tablecloth restaurant. From the complimentary basket of fresh, crisp papadam (served with delicious tamarind and cilantro chutneys) to perfect samosas, to entrees, the food was fresh, beautifully seasoned, and delicious.Between us we had aloo gobi and chana masala, and both were superior—among the best we’ve had anywhere. Our waiter, Krishna, was gracious and welcoming. The entire experience was worth the 90-minute car trip. Highly recommend this place!
