Our first trip in last weekend was mixed. The ice cream must be great because everyone was ordering and eating it all over town! But we wanted lunch. It just wasn't an attractive menu for a small ice cream parlor. Not even chicken salad, a staple at small luncheonettes. Next time we will go for ice cream.

Stams is an adorable Ice Cream Parlor that also serves yummy sandwiches and soup until 3pm. You definitely won't be disappointed.

My friend and I stopped in this past Thursday. We got there at 3:25. When we walked in there was a mom and her 2 girls at the counter and 1 other girl sitting at a table near the front window and a woman in a back room on her computer. There was an employee in the kitchen and 2 employees behind the counter. 1 of them gave us a dirty look as she proceeded to walk by us to a freezer to do inventory. TOTALLY IGNORED US. The other girl behind the counter was apparently doing her side work as well. AGAIN TOTALLY IGNORING US. After approximately 7 minutes of sitting at the counter being ignored, I asked the girl behind the counter if they were closed. She said we close at 4, that was it. Mo more conversation not asking for our order. They were both clearly annoyed that they may have to stay alllll the way to 4. The other one doing inventory was acting so flustered and busy. There were about 20 things for her inventory, I'm sure it was exhausting. Needless to say, we got up and left. As we exited, there were 2 other women getting ready to enter until I shared my experience. Cute place, AWFUL RUDE LAZY STAFF. You ALWAYS know who DOESN'T own the place!

We popped in on a Saturday morning for a round of delicious breakfast sandwiches piled high with crispy bacon, arugula, fluffy eggs, and a zesty dijonnaise. One dining companion also ordered the blueberry lemonade, which was freshly made and fantastic. Highly recommend.Stam's is a super-cute, retro lunch counter and ice cream shoppe that has been beautifully restored. Unlike what we read in other reviews, we received good service from our order taker too.
My husband and I have lived in almost every major metropolitan area in the US and the homemade, hand-dipped ice cream at Stam's is as fine as any we have had at any legendary west coast Salt & Straw or Palm Beach Sloan's or Sprinkles. This spring's limited edition cherry blossom flavor was particularly remarkable. Plus, the place is a local legend--the same place my great-grandparents used to take the kids for a treat. So cute! Do not miss if you're visiting this small town.

Ice cream was not overly sweet, and it was pretty creamy. The mini chocolate chips are a nice addition. It's not the best vegan ice cream I've had, but there are not very many choices in town, so I was glad to have this one. The interior is super cute and it's a great place to grab some ice cream with friends. I just wish they had more than one vegan ice cream flavor. Updated from previous review on 2023-05-20

Let's start with location~ If you're visiting for the first time and it happens to be on a Saturday, you'll get to enjoy a very lively and pleasant Farmer's Market experience. Stam's decor is welcoming, clean and very charming. We ordered the recommended items~ and it was the best tuna melt I've ever tried!! The fries are amazing as well. The oreo shake, chocolate donut for desert will definitely fix your sugar craving, and they weren't too sweet or overpowering. The service is wonderful ~~ Loved every bit of Stam's experience!!
