The Kitchen at the Imperial

We recently had a wedding rehearsal dinner at this hole. It takes a lot to get me fired up but the CHEF ( owner ) is a complete POS. His attitude is horrible and he will cut all corners to make bank.

Horrible! Owner mean and disrespectful, to employees snd patrons. We had a rehearsal dinner there and booked the back room and we had to sit on white plastic folding chairs. Embarrassing, uncomfortable and rude of them! Claimed they did not have enough chairs for guests. . There were 28 guests!!! We booked the room 6 months in advance. Food cold and service a mess… sad it put a huge damper on our evening because they made it so uncomfortable and tense! Do not waste your money there!

Wow, big surprises in Chestertown!

A must place to eat. Best of all, worlds. Great menu, best service. Had a crab cake and salad. Must try the honey butter rolls , they are amazing.

We always enjoy dining here. Food and service are excellent.

The food was lackluster but the service was good. I went with my mom for lunch we ordered a Rye Manhattan and Old Fashioned, she liked her drink, I felt like mine tasted like watered down rye. We had the Brussels Sprouts which were cooked well but covered in a lot of aioli, which tasted like straight mayonnaise. We shared the caramelized onion blue cheese flat bread, she had a side salad and I had the crab soup. I was not particularly impressed with any of the food.

We had brunch and dinner last Sunday. Only have pics of dinner. Atmosphere was cozy and friendly, food was excellent and drinks were even better! Seevice was wonderful! Even asked for one burger instead of the two on the menu, and the kitchen was ok with that. Would definitely recommend!

What an all around incredible experience! My parents took me out to dinner for my birthday and we were seated at a beautiful window table with a customized menu wishing me happy birthday! What a subtle yet uniquely special touch! Jennifer was our waitress and she was fantastic, giving us ample time to enjoy our drinks, apps and our meals while still being attentive to our needs. The food was phenomenal, we each had something different yet we all thought it was delicious! If you’re looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion, I highly recommend The Kitchen at the Imperial! We will certainly be back! Thank you for such a memorable dinner!

Great spot! The crab cake was divine, and the crispy shoe string fries were a perfect complement. We enjoyed our lunch in the garden.

What a great experience at the Kitchen!!! My husband and I went for the wine pairing dinner, the food was incredible. Chrissy our server was phenomenal. She explained every dish and wine that was paired with it. I wish I took pictures of every course. It was a fantastic night. Do yourself a favor book reservation for the wine pairing dinner, it is a wonderful night of amazing food and wine. Ask for Chrissy as she goes above and beyond.

Beautiful ambiance, spectacular service and amazing food! I had the house salad that was fresh multi-greens with dried cranberries and seeds with a flavorful vinaigrette (not your normal lame lettuce with a cherry tomato & bottled dressing in a plastic cup), followed with in-house made pasta chicken Alfredo that was rich and very flavorful. The almond torte for dessert was heavenly. I highly recommended this restaurant and am excited to return.

Food is consistently top notch. Particularly the beef (by far the best in Chestertown), the fried oysters as well as interesting chef’s specials.
This is the only restaurant where I will order swordfish. They are the only place I’ve found that cooks it through with out leaving it a dry, soulless, unforgivable waste.
Pay the $1 for the Brioche to begin and try the Chocolate Bread Pudding at the end. You won’t be sorry!

My mom and I went for lunch the food was awful. Do not recommend at all. I had a Smashed burger with fries the fries are just burnt thin pice of potatoes not even edible the burger wasn't to bad.she got a Ruben the Corned beef was tough a the dressing on the side caeser was not very good . Then came the bill. It was way over priced for how small the portion were even if the food was good.
