Food was great, server seemed to have a lot of tables at once, air conditioning is still broken, so air is coming in through hoses from exterior.
The lively crowd outside makes the noise level moderate. Inside it's one of the quietest restaurants I have been to.
Overall a very pleasant experience. Service, noise level, parking validation -- all make it a fine place to visit for a meal. I do think that lowering the prices by, say, 20% would make it over the top.
Great service from whole entire late night staff and Nathaniel, full top marks for food and service
The view of the kitchen made me think the entire place was not up to code, extremely in need of a renovation. Service was fine, but the food was disappointing and nothing to even remember. The air conditioning wasn't working and the entire place smelled like old fish upon entering. If my family wasn't as hungry as they were, I would have left as we walked in. Probably won't return as it was a wasted meal experience
We are regulars at Clydes but this time the service was slow and not as friendly as usual. The oyster portion seemed less than usual so overall value was not what we usually expect. Hopefully, it returns to normal service and value next time.
Four of us were eating there for dinner. One main and two sides were not hot. Very disappointing.
We went late in the evening, but well within the normal operating hours. The restaurant was understaffed, so while the service was fine, it wasn't up to par. The food, usually excellent, was mediocre. Overall, unremarkable.
They never sweep the floor and often don't wipe off the seating, both of which are frequently dirty. The staff that seats you never checks for this. We've usually had to ask them or the server to clean. I've been going weekly for many years, and this has never improved, despite my having left this review several times in the past. No one is listening. I patronize because all else is good. At Woodmont Grill, table-turning is thorough. That place is pristinely clean 100% of the time. At Woodmont Grill, table-turning is thorough. I have been an avid fan of Clyde's Chevy Chase for decades. Our meal last night had only one saving grace, the oyster on the half-shell plate. The crab cake was doused in Old Bay, overwhelming the taste of the crab meat, making it taste only of Old Bay. The pasta was mediocre and came with chicken, which was not noted on the menu. I regret that we did not send everything back to the kitchen. Also, I had noted on my reservation that it was a birthday celebration. There was no notice of this from the waiter.

The food should have been better. The fried calamari came at room temperature--we were in a hurry so did not send them back. French fires were soggy and flaccid. Salad that came with the salmon was almost inedible because of extremely salty cheese on top. Key lime pie was fine, but it came with a baseball-sized scoop of dense whipped cream which was too rich.
Unfortunately the air con was not working on the 1st floor so everyone was seated downstairs.
You can always count on Clyde's for delicious food at a reasonable price served pleasantly and efficiently. We had another enjoyable lunch and look forward to our next visit.
Unique environment and decor but outdated with duck tape on banquettes. AC was out upstairs so sat downstairs. Waitress was nice but rushed. Liked the NC swordfish
The air conditioning was not working upstairs; therefore, we went to lower level. Furniture is in bad shape. Seats had tape on them. Food when served was lukewarm. Server was not attentive to our table. We were there for our anniversary which they should have been aware of There was no recognition. This was the worst service I have had at this location
