This was our first time at Sushi-Ko, and our party of four, including three sushi lovers, was blown away! From the gracious, polite welcome to the consistent excellence of each course, we thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. While we were there as a family to celebrate a very special occasion, there were plenty of other people who were dressed more casually and looked to be neighborhood regulars. Yes, you can find less expensive Japanese restaurants, but I can’t imagine finding one that is a better value. It was a meal we will long remember. I told my kids they will need to win a big award, like their Dad, for us to come back again, and what do you know but my HS sophomore was up early today plugging away at his school work!

My wife and I just moved from Japan so we are no strangers to authentic Japanese cuisine and Kobo did not disappoint us. This was the most authentic Japanese sushi we've had in the States here compared to Japan. There is a twist with accents, flavors, and components of foods from other parts of the world that fuse and blend well to the palette. The welcoming tea with it's seasonal accents were a wonderful touch. Such attention to detail that stays true to Japanese culture and tradition. I really appreciated that. This place would be great for a special occasion or upscale dinner date. Our waiter was very attentive and always made sure we had everything we needed. Excellent service!! The whole dinner experience is very interactive with the Chefs so be ready for that. We were not expecting that but we're pleasantly surprised. The Chefs are great and a joy to talk to. The dishes were brought out by the co-executive chef Piter Tjan and he was extremely humble and friendly. The dishes were all beautifully plated and delicious! My favorite was dish was the A5 Wagyu with Mint while my wife's favorite was the Tuna Ceviche with Watermelon Melon and Jalapeño Jelee. Hard to say favorite in this context because everything was absolutely amazing! I also loved the Tuna Ceviche and my wife really liked their Housemade Tofu with Hokkaido Sea Urchin as well! Nothing we didn't love honestly. The price point can be a little much for some so I wouldn't recommend going here for a casual dinner unless you have the money. But I am glad we came here to enjoy such an upscale and authentic Japanese dinner experience. Thank you Chefs Handry Tjan and Piter Tjan! As non-Japanese Chefs (and brothers) you guys should be proud of what you have at Kobo. I've eaten authentic upscale Japanese cuisine before and what we've had is absolutely comparable and arguably even better. We will definitely be coming back for our anniversary or another special occasion in the future. I highly recommend Kobo.

The sushi is delicious, but braving the abhorrent customer service at the front desk is challenging, to say the least. Even when we do carry-out, to avoid the outright unkindness of the people seating us and the incredibly stringent, arbitrary rules, they are still difficult, challenging, and act as if they are doing us a favor.

We often had take out from Sushiko, but they stopped that service a long time ago and pre-covid. We were so pleased to order tonight and have their takeout again. It was wonderful. Bravo for your efforts!

What a pleasant surprise. My wife and I were strolling in the area and we chanced upon this Japanese restaurant. It was in a snazzy part of town and we were leery that it might be super upscale and too expensive just for a quick bite. We entered it anyway to give it a try. Wow! Were we blown away? Just go for the bento box (several choices) and we were taken away to Japan in an instant. It was first class and service was instant. Price was decent. About $20 for a bento and good portions too. Sake was awesome too for those with a taste for real Japanese. I’d say this qualifies for a gem find.

What an amazing place! Located in serene Chevy Chase this little sushi place features a spacious restaurant and a small, but high-impact, bar area. Their happy hour is incredibly priced and offers good quality sushi and including some distinct specialties such as some very good hand rolls - and drinks. It's an amazing place to enjoy an evening.
