We had a party of 19 on a Saturday night and River Hill Grill handled it like absolute pros.
We called at 6:30 and our table was ready by 6:35. That alone deserves a moment. The group was 8 adults and 11 boys ages 2–12, aka peak chaos. Endless energy, constant movement, sodas disappearing at Olympic speed while the adults ordered beers and dinner.
Our server Jacob was next-level. Calm, unbothered, and genuinely friendly. He never once seemed frazzled, even while handling other tables. Every order came out correct, he brought extra sauces without us even asking, and he joked around with the boys in a way that kept them happy and engaged.
And for context. I was a server for 20+ years, so I don’t hand out compliments lightly. It takes a lot to impress me. Jacob really did the damn thing.
We’ve loved River Hill Grill for many years, but this night was a true stress test and they absolutely passed with flying colors. Huge shout-out to Jacob for turning what could’ve been a wild night into a smooth, enjoyable experience for everyone.
We’ll be back. And if you’re dining with kids, big groups, or both, you’re in very good hands. 🍻

We went on a weekday evening. The main entrance is not on the side with the shopping center. We were immediately given a table. The food was good and came out fast. The staff was friendly and helpful. The atmosphere seemed nice and the staff was friendly and seemed to know a lot of the customers. Would recommend.

It's in the behind the Giant and other stores, so it's easy to miss it. We were lucky enough to go when the weather was good, so it was great that they had plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy it. The menu is varied and has something for everyone (even vegans and young kids). Everyone seemed to enjoy their food, and prices were average for the area. Another guest and I had the crabcakes, and they were good, just not great. We both agreed that there was too much mustard/filler, and that overpowered the crab taste. The server was personable and attentive, and it was easy to find parking, so we'll most likely return when we're back in the area.
My 25 year old girlfriend got denied a beverage because her ID “looked weird”. At first they took the ID in the back for 10 minutes eventually gave it back and told us drinks were coming. 5 minutes later a “manager” came out and asked to see it again and then proceeds to send out a teenage girl to deny her. The fact that the manager couldn’t even come out and explain the situation the first time or even the second time is appalling. Clearly she has never been in restaurant business because she handled it so poorly. Later after asking to speak with her she couldn’t even give me an actual reason besides “it looked weird”. Not to mention the manager told us the waitress has recognized us AND served us before. Not sure where the normal manager was but it’s really frustrating after going to this place for so many years. It’s not about the drinks but it’s the fact that it’s embarrassing to me and my girlfriend and the manager handled it poorly. Not to mention not one other person around us got ID’d but I know it’s procedure for these waiters to ask. All and all the “manager” could’ve had the decency to have a conversation about it.
